England's Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham have made it to the shortlist for the 2023 men's Ballon d'Or award. Similarly, Lionesses Mary Earps, Millie Bright, Rachel Daly, and Georgia Stanway have been nominated for the women's category. On Tuesday, Saka was honored as the England men's player of the year, and his exceptional performances for Arsenal and the national team resulted in his inclusion on the 30-man shortlist. Bellingham, his England teammate, has also been recognized for his outstanding season at both Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, where he recently transferred.

Daly's outstanding performance in the WSL has gained recognition. With her remarkable achievement of scoring 22 goals for Aston Villa, she has set a new record in the WSL. As a result, she has been nominated for the prestigious women's Ballon d'Or, alongside her England team-mates Earps, Bright, and Stanway. These talented individuals played crucial roles in the Lionesses' journey to the World Cup final last month.
