The progress is being made. Obviously, I was unable to work during the strike. However, now that it has concluded, I am fully immersing myself in the task, and thus, progress is being made. I have established the premise, determined the setting, and envisioned the entire movie in my mind. The only thing left to do is to write the damn thing.
With Johnson's previous approach to the films resembling an anthology and drawing inspiration from Agatha Christie's novels featuring Hercule Poirot, details about the plot for Knives Out 3 remain unknown. The writer/director has expressed his desire to continue the story of Blanc in a tone and theme distinct from the previous two movies. However, considering the comedic elements that contributed to their success, it seems unlikely that he would completely stray from the genre combination.
Regarding the cast for the third installment, it has been confirmed that Craig will return as Blanc, thanks to his involvement in Netflix's two-movie deal back in early 2021.
