The Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola was taken by surprise when her estranged husband, Todd Nepola, officially filed for divorce on Thursday, April 11.

According to a source close to the situation, the news has left everyone shocked. Alexia, known for her loving and romantic nature, is currently going through a difficult time as she processes the situation.

Alexia, aged 56, is said to be deeply saddened by the breakup with Todd. According to an insider, she loves Todd very much and was completely taken aback by the news.

The couple, Alexia and Todd, got married in 2021 after dating for a few years. Although Todd has not spoken out about the separation publicly, Alexia shared her reaction on her Instagram Story on Monday, April 15th.

Alexia wasn't the only one caught off guard by the divorce announcement. Her RHOM co-star Marysol Patton expressed her surprise during a recent episode of her iHeartRadio podcast "Ay Por Favor."

Marysol, 57, was completely taken by surprise and devastated by the news. She empathized with her friend, putting herself in her shoes and understanding the difficulty of the situation.

During season 6 of RHOM, which aired in November 2023, Alexia and Todd's relationship was a controversial topic. Despite rumors of financial troubles spread by Adriana de Moura, Alexia addressed and dismissed the gossip during the season 6 reunion earlier this year.

She expressed her frustration at being assumed to have financial problems just because she had to move out due to the sale of their unit. She clarified that she is married to a successful businessman with his own business.

Alexia was previously married to Peter Rosello Sr., who was featured in Netflix's Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami, from 1992 to 1996. They have two sons, Peter (31) and Frankie (26). After their divorce, Alexia married Herman Echevarria in 2004. The couple separated in 2015, and tragically, Echevarria passed away at the age of 61 in September 2016.

Alexia reflected on her past marriages during a December 2021 episode of RHOM. She shared that after going through two marriages with dishonest partners, she felt disillusioned. However, when she met Todd five years ago, she felt a sense of trust that she hadn't experienced before. She expressed her desire to spend the rest of her life with Todd and build a strong marriage together.
