However, it has also faced criticism for incorporating modern trends such as microtransactions and always-online DRM, as well as a heavy reliance on grinding to unlock content. Despite this, it has achieved record-breaking sales figures, and both Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive are determined to maintain the excitement surrounding the game. This includes not only the forthcoming Gran Turismo movie but also the addition of fresh content to the latest installment.

As outlined on the official Gran Turismo website, Gran Turismo 7 Version 1.38 introduces a plethora of fresh content. Notably, this update brings three new vehicles, consisting of two Hondas and a Mazda. Additionally, two Toyotas have been incorporated into Brand Central, accompanied by liveries for three existing Mazdas. Furthermore, three exciting racetracks have been introduced as events in the World Circuit mode: Grand Valley: Highway 1, Dragon Trail, and Mount Panorama. The Brand Central now features new representation for Fiat and Nissan. To enhance the gaming experience, several new browsable menus have been added to the Café, allowing players to engage in conversations with various car designers and other characters when interacting with specific models.

In addition, Version 1.38 introduces new engine swaps for various cars exclusively available for players at Level 50 or above. – The prices of Legend Cars from the Hagerty Collection have been updated using real-life valuations provided by Hagerty, a Gran Turismo partner that specializes in valuations and insurance for classic cars. Hagerty also sponsors numerous historic car events. The revised prices will be implemented during the next vehicle sale. The next price revision is slated for January 2024.
