Typing on a tablet can be a frustrating experience, especially when trying to reach the keyboard keys with your thumbs. Fortunately, Gboard keyboard has introduced a solution that is now available on Android tablets. The split keyboard mode, previously only available on foldable phones, splits the keyboard into two parts on the left and right of the screen, making it easy to type with your thumbs. This feature was particularly useful for those who wanted to type on their foldable phone's large screen, and now it's available on Android tablets too. It's worth noting that Google is actively trying to revitalize Android tablets, having recently launched both a foldable phone and a tablet. Therefore, it's likely that this rollout is related to the company's push towards big-screen devices, with Gboard being one of the first apps to be adapted to these devices. It was only a matter of time before it made its way to tablets as well.
This change is reported to be live on the Beta version, and it should roll out to the stable version soon enough as well.
