Diablo 4 enthusiasts demand an essential quality-of-life addition from Blizzard - a seamless feature empowering players to effortlessly explore and fine-tune various character builds

Diablo 4 players are once again calling for a significant improvement in the game, specifically the absence of a feature that allows for presets in custom builds. A player's build, which combines chosen skills, their class' skill tree, paragon points, and equipment, is crucial to their Diablo 4 gameplay. Unfortunately, players are currently limited to just one build, as making substantial changes is incredibly tedious and time-consuming. Blizzard has confirmed that they have no plans to add this feature at the moment.

The amount of time and effort required to develop a build in Diablo 4 cannot be overstated. Progression from levels 1 to 50, which is meant to be experienced while playing through the game's campaign, can be relatively straightforward. Players earn Skill Points and acquire better equipment as they level up. Skills can be easily reset, and equipment is frequently replaced with better options. This encourages players to experiment with different builds. However, once players reach level 50, everything becomes more complicated, and changing builds becomes a rare occurrence.

In the quest to reach level 100 and progress through Diablo 4, players are increasingly expressing their desire for a more convenient way to save and switch between custom-build presets. One Reddit thread in particular pleads with Blizzard to implement a feature that allows for the saving of builds, citing the time-consuming and punishing nature of constantly altering builds. The request includes the ability to save Paragon boards, Skill builds, and a Stash-like user interface specifically designed for saved builds.

The underlying concept behind this appeal is that as players approach Diablo 4's endgame, they accumulate enough resources to explore and experiment with other intriguing builds. However, the current process of switching to a new build is not only laborious but also carries no guarantee of success. Additionally, if a player wishes to revert back to their original build, it would require even more time and effort. Given these challenges, it becomes apparent that Diablo 4 players are unlikely to engage in build swapping once they reach the endgame stage.

At present, there are no definite plans in place to introduce custom-built presets. However, it is possible that Blizzard is internally exploring this possibility. If players of Diablo 4 have been contemplating the inclusion of such a feature, it is highly likely that Blizzard has also given it some thought. Should Blizzard decide to implement this feature, it would probably be reserved for a substantial update or expansion. In simple terms, unless Blizzard has been secretly developing this feature, its inclusion would be distant even after a decision is made.

For now, Diablo 4 players will need to rely on the same approach that Diablo players have been utilizing for years. If someone wishes to experiment with a new build, the best option is to create a new character and level them up separately. Diablo 4's seasonal live service structure will provide an opportunity for this in its own unique way. Although it may not be an ideal solution, it aligns with the traditional approach of the Diablo series.

Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
