Highlights

Delta Force: Hawk Ops, the ninth installment in the long-dormant FPS franchise, is currently in development by TiMi Studio Group, known for Call of Duty Mobile.

The game will offer a multiplayer-focused experience that is free-to-play, alongside a campaign mode inspired by Black Hawk Down.

In addition, TiMi Studio Group is developing other licensed properties such as Metal Slug Code: J and an untitled Monster Hunter game. Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be accessible on Android, iOS, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Delta Force series is making a surprise comeback with Delta Force: Hawk Ops, the ninth installment in the long-dormant FPS franchise. Currently in development at TiMi Studio Group, best known for their work on Call of Duty Mobile, this new game brings fresh excitement to the series.

Originally a PC-only series that debuted in 1998, Delta Force expanded to consoles four years later. Its PlayStation debut, Delta Force: Urban Warfare, gained significant recognition and is still regarded as one of the top FPS games on the PS1.

NovaLogic, a California-based developer, released new Delta Force games annually until the 2005 release of Delta Force: Xtreme. Unfortunately, its sequel, Xtreme 2, received predominantly negative reviews in 2009. This led to the company shifting its focus to other projects.

After facing financial difficulties and cancelling three projects, NovaLogic was eventually acquired by THQ Nordic in 2016. However, the Austrian publisher has shown no interest in reviving the Delta Force series, until now with the announcement of Delta Force: Hawk Ops.

A new installment in the franchise, Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is currently being developed by TiMi Studio Group. It is presumed that they obtained the license for the long-dormant FPS brand from THQ Nordic. The Chinese mobile gaming giant unveiled a teaser trailer on August 18, showcasing intense action in various locations. This 30-second video serves as a preview for the game's official announcement, which will take place at the 2023 Gamescom on Tuesday, August 22.

In addition, TiMi Studio Group has confirmed that Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be available on multiple platforms, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices. The game will be released as a free-to-play experience, following the trend of other contemporary titles from the developer of Call of Duty Mobile. While the game will naturally focus on multiplayer due to its business model, it will also include a campaign mode inspired by the popular 2001 Hollywood film Black Hawk Down.

Hawk Ops will be the second Delta Force game to draw inspiration from Ridley Scott's legendary war film, coming over twenty years after Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. However, it is important to note that the upcoming FPS is not expected to be a remake of NovaLogic's 2003 game.

In addition to Delta Force: Hawk Ops, TiMi Studio Group is currently working on other licensed properties. These include Metal Slug Code: J and an untitled Monster Hunter game, which should not be mistaken for Niantic's Monster Hunter Now spin-off.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops is in development for Android, iOS, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
