The original game, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, was released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, and it set the bar high with its lightning-fast and quirky minigames that were perfect for on-the-go gaming.

Now, Wario is back with WarioWare: Move It, a brand new entry revealed during June's Nintendo Direct livestream. Similar to its predecessor, WarioWare: Get It Together!, Move It offers a selection of wild "microgames" for players to tackle solo or enjoy with a friend in local co-op mode. This time, the game places a stronger focus on motion controls, utilizing the Joy-Con controllers of the Nintendo Switch. With over 200 microgames in store, players can expect to encounter nods to other iconic Nintendo titles such as Pikmin and the groundbreaking Super Mario 64, which captured the hearts of gamers back in 1996.

The official Nintendo of America Twitter account recently shared a sneak peek at WarioWare: Move It’s tribute to Super Mario 64 before its November 3 release. A short video clip reveals a microgame inspired by "The Princess's Secret Slide," the hidden sliding level in Super Mario 64. Players can use the Joy-Con controller to guide Mario down the slide and collect as many coins as possible by tilting their bodies left and right. The game faithfully recreates the iconic graphics of Super Mario 64, capturing the blocky charm of the Nintendo 64 era.

Super Mario 64, released in 1996, was a groundbreaking game that introduced Mario to the world of 3D gaming after years of side-scrolling adventures. Players could explore Princess Peach’s Castle, which served as a central hub, and travel between levels using magical paintings. Alongside the traditional Mario courses, the castle hid numerous secrets for gamers to uncover, including special bonus stages that helped Mario collect Power Stars and unlock the final showdown with Bowser.

The Princess's Secret Slide, a hidden stage in Super Mario 64, will be featured as a secret sliding course in one of the minigames of WarioWare: Move It.
