Gunfire Games has released a new update for Remnant 2 on Xbox Series X/S, which includes bug fixes and quality of life improvements. Since its release in July, Remnant 2 has achieved remarkable success with positive feedback from both critics and players. Within just a week of its launch, the game has sold over a million units, surpassing sales expectations and significantly surpassing the number of players compared to its predecessor.
One of the main factors contributing to the game's appeal is its combination of Soulslike gameplay, RPG mechanics, and a plethora of secrets and treasures to discover. Interestingly, Remnant 2 intentionally maintains an element of mystery, encouraging players to experiment and uncover things on their own. For example, players have recently discovered the Archon archetype through datamining. However, despite the game's positive reception, it is not without flaws. Gunfire Games has been consistently releasing updates to address issues such as bugs and other problems.
The latest patch has a specific impact on Xbox Series X/S players, as Remnant 2's Update 1.0.0.9 introduces a number of quality of life updates and significant performance-related fixes. Xbox players now have the ability to toggle motion blur on or off, depending on their preference. Additionally, Gunfire Games has made adjustments to the player voice over lines, toning down the comments.
Regarding bug fixes, Gunfire Games has addressed four specific issues that were blocking progression. One of these issues was related to the Nightweaver Web, where players were unintentionally offering specific items needed to complete quest puzzles, effectively causing the campaign to become stuck. However, with this update, the item will now be placed back in the player's inventory. Furthermore, players of the Remnant 2 Ultimate Edition will now receive the Gunslinger engram, regardless of whether they choose to start with the archetype at the beginning of the game.
The continuous updates undeniably contribute significantly to the ongoing improvement of the overall experience. However, there exists a subset of players who express their hopes for a few additional adjustments. Specifically, a group of players has voiced concerns regarding the difficulty scaling in Remnant 2. They point out that the difficulty of a zone is determined by considering both the combined gear level and class power, which has resulted in certain challenges. Some players have found themselves in situations where possessing a highly upgraded weapon proves to be quite punishing for those eager to experiment with new gear, unless everything is kept at a similar level. Consequently, players have indicated that this approach limits their ability to test out new gear unless it is upgraded to match their own level.
