Grendizer U, a modern reboot of the beloved manga and anime mecha series from the 1970s, is here with a stunning new look. A teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming series, which is a sequel and spin-off from the popular anime Mazinger, both created by the renowned Go Nagai.
Leading the development of this exciting iteration of Grendizer is Manga Productions. The original manga series that served as its inspiration, UFO Robo Grendizer, was written by Go Nagai and featured artwork from various illustrators. It was later adapted into a successful anime series that aired from 1975 to 1977. In 2014 to 2015, the manga made a comeback with two volumes under the title Grendizer Giga.
Grendizer U is the Franchise's Triumphant Return
A teaser for Grendizer U has been shared by Manga Productions on YouTube. Duke Fleed (also known as Daisuke), the show's protagonist, and the titular mecha robot, Grendizer, are revealed for the first time in the teaser. The series boasts an all-star cast including director Mitsuo Fukuda, character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, screenwriter Ichiro Okouchi, composer Kohei Tanaka, and production company Gaina. Although the series does not have a specific release date, the trailer hints at a debut in 2024. The trailer concludes with the cryptic phrase, "Space and Earth. Do you recall my faded memories?"

After a destructive assault by Vega's forces on Planet Fleed, Duke Fleed and Grendizer managed to escape to Earth. Upon arrival, Dr. Amon, the director of the Space Research Center, took him in and named him Daisuke. As they collaborated in the center, their main focus was uncovering the mystery behind the peculiar objects that appeared in the city's sky. However, their investigations took an unexpected turn when Daisuke's memory was triggered by a sudden attack.
Grendizer U, set to release in 2024, is highly anticipated among anime enthusiasts due to its exceptional creative team. Mitsuo Fukuda, renowned for his expertise in mecha series, has contributed to notable projects like Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Gear Fighter Dendoh.
