Although he is proud of their accomplishments in such a short time, the approaching conclusion of the film fills Kazuya with sadness, as it signifies the end of their collaboration.

Even though Kazuya and Chizuru have made significant progress in their relationship, transitioning from a rental arrangement to a professional one, their journey towards becoming an official couple is still long and arduous. Rent-a-Girlfriend has subtly alluded to the possibility of them ending up together, especially as Chizuru begins to view Kazuya in a new light. However, various obstacles hinder their emotions, with Kazuya's "real" girlfriend, Ruka, being the primary hurdle.

A Movie-Making Trip

The film's final scene was meant to be captured at the picturesque retreat of Madarao, where the stars illuminate the night sky. As the production team needed to film their own short-film, Kazuya and Chizuru were entrusted with capturing the concluding scene for their amateur movie. However, what was supposed to be a simple task soon transformed into a journey fraught with unexpected romantic challenges, brought about by Yaemori's plot to bring the two closer together.

Instead of booking separate rooms for Chizuru and Kazuya, Yaemori deliberately reserves only one room, making them share the night together. Although Kazuya is flustered by the idea of sleeping in the same room and attempts to get a separate one, Chizuru steps up and simply agrees to share the single room. Despite Chizuru's habit of putting distance between herself and Kazuya, and avoiding situations that require intimacy with him, she shows no hesitation in sleeping in the same room as him.

Chizuru's casual response to the whole situation indicates that her feelings for Kazuya are finally starting to thaw. Her readiness to sleep next to him, along with her spontaneous appearance in a Yukata, suggests that things are finally looking up for Kazuya and his unrequited love. However, it's still too early for either of them to confess their feelings.

While much of the episode focuses on Kazuya's rambling, the purpose of the trip also receives ample screen time. Post-midnight, Kazuya and Chizuru set out to shoot a scene with a starry sky backdrop. However, before filming can begin, Chizuru interrupts to share something personal with Kazuya. Initially, Kazuya believes that Chizuru may confess her feelings, a sentiment shared by the viewers.

Instead, Chizuru discloses a personal detail of her life, revealing the driving force behind her ambitions. Chizuru has typically been reserved and cautious about her personal life, leaving Kazuya with little knowledge about her experiences. Therefore, for her to open up about the source of her ambitions is a significant moment, marking a major milestone in their relationship.

The Barriers to Kazuya and Chizuru’s Relationship

Chizuru's words struck Kazuya deeply, causing his inappropriate thoughts to fade away. All that occupied his mind now was the trust and gratitude Chizuru held for him. Tears streamed down his face as Kazuya filmed the final scene under the shimmering starlit sky, marveling at Chizuru's celestial beauty.
