Suki Thompson, chair and co-founder of Our Website sister brand Oystercatchers, has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Thompson passed away on Sunday, July 30th, at her residence in Perranporth, Cornwall, surrounded by her loved ones.

In her last months, she devoted her time to fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support and promoting awareness of preventive measures.

Last month, Suki successfully organized a sponsored walk and swim event called Suki's Steps and Swim. Along with a silent auction, this initiative helped her raise nearly £200,000 for the cancer charity. In addition, she made a guest appearance on ITV1's Good Morning Britain to promote the importance of wearing sunscreen as a preventive measure against melanoma.

Suki's involvement in Oystercatchers began in 2007 when she co-founded the company. Following its acquisition by Centaur, the parent company of Our Website, she joined the executive committee in 2016.

A serial entrepreneur, she has founded other successful ventures such as Bunker Gin, a specialized gin brand, and most recently Let's Reset. Let's Reset focuses on providing valuable insights to companies aiming to enhance the mental wellbeing of their workforce. In addition, she has made significant contributions to the marketing community as a respected member in various organizations including The Marketing Society, where she served as chair for three years starting from 2011. Her membership in WACL and MGGB further demonstrates her active involvement.

Russell Parsons, the editor-in-chief of Our Website, expresses his sadness over Suki's passing on behalf of the entire Our Website team. He acknowledges Suki's drive, enthusiasm, and energy, as well as her strong passion and belief in the potential of marketing and marketers. Suki's advocacy for the industry will be greatly missed. Russell extends his thoughts and condolences to Suki's family.

A private family funeral will take place in the next few weeks, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Suki's life. Details regarding the timing and location of the memorial service will be confirmed at a later date.
