Reilly Smedley Denies Dating Rumors with Matt Klotz, Cites Need for Time

Reilly Smedley from Big Brother 25 has shared some disappointing news for fans hoping for a romance with her costar Matt Klotz. "We're not dating at the moment. He needs time. We had a conversation about it. He's focusing on himself and I don't want to get in the way," revealed the 24-year-old during a recent Instagram Live, which has since expired.
Reilly mentioned that she and 27-year-old Matt intend to maintain their friendship. "I’ll always be his friend, but for now, he was open with me and said that it’s not a good time for him," she revealed. "He’s feeling overwhelmed and has a lot on his plate. So, I’ll be there to support him when he needs me. That's all there is to it."
Rumors of a showmance between Reilly and Matt began shortly after they entered the Big Brother house in August. However, their time together on the show was short-lived as Reilly was evicted in the second week of the season.
When Matt won his first Head of Household competition in October, Reilly demonstrated that she had not forgotten about the Deaflympian by writing his Head of Household letter, often written by a family member, partner, or close friend of the HoH. "I want you to know how much I miss you and wish I could be telling you all of this in person at 3 a.m. on the hammock," Reilly wrote, expressing that the feelings between them were "mutual." She also included a photo of herself with Matt's mother.
At the season finale in November, the duo reunited when Matt was crowned the season’s runner-up. One day after the BB25 conclusion, Matt exclusively told We that he was “excited” to spend more time with Reilly and “see where it goes from there.”
Reilly Smedley and Matt Klotz, both from CBS, shared that Reilly's parents had relocated to Georgia while she was in the Big Brother house. Matt, who resides in Louisiana, mentioned that they now live three hours apart, considering it relatively close.
Before revealing that she and Matt are only friends, Reilly posted a heartwarming photo on Instagram of herself and the athlete with their arms wrapped around each other. She captioned the November 13 snapshot with, "Finally got this guy out of the have-not room," referring to a section of the Big Brother house.
Despite Reilly and Matt's short-lived romance, another relationship from Big Brother 25 is thriving: Cory Wurtenberger and America Lopez's showmance.
Cory, 22, wished America, 28, a happy birthday via Instagram on Tuesday, November 28.

“I may not have won Big Brother, but I did sleep with the 4th member of the jury. Happy birthday babe ️,” he wrote alongside several snaps of America.
BB25’s other couple, Jared Fields and Blue Kim, have not shared an update on their showmance since leaving the show.
