During the latest episode of The Kardashians, which premiered on Thursday, November 23, Kourtney, 44, shared that she and husband Travis Barker were expecting their first child together. In maternity photos, she posed with her 8-year-old son Reign, who eagerly anticipated meeting his new sibling and even suggested a name.
“I’m going to show him the ropes of Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Black Ops III — Zombies Chronicles,” Reign, with 13-year-old older brother Mason and 11-year-old older sister Penelope, shared. “Even if I had a sister, she could still be a cool person at her school.”

Kourtney's son, from her previous relationship with Scott Disick, came up with an unexpected suggestion for his new sibling's name, proposing "Deez Big Nuts" as the name. However, Kourtney gently declined Reign's idea and informed him that her fourth baby's name would be Barker. Kourtney and Scott had three children together before their split in 2015. Since being with Travis, 48, Kourtney has openly talked about their efforts to expand their family.
During the filming of season 3 of The Kardashians, Kourtney spoke about her and Travis being "officially done" with their difficult IVF journey. "I would love a baby more than anything, but I just really believe in what God has in store for us. If that’s a baby, then I believe that it will happen," she said during the premiere in May.
Kourtney also shared the pressure she felt in the past to freeze her eggs. "The freezing of the eggs isn’t guaranteed. I think that that’s a misunderstanding. People do it thinking it’s a safety net and then it’s not," she continued. "Most of them didn’t survive the thaw and then none of them made it to an embryo."
The Poosh founder opened up about the physical toll that IVF had on her body, stating, "My health is still affected by the hormones. And mentally, it definitely took a toll. So I think being happy is the most important thing and being a good parent to my kids. We are embracing the idea that whatever is meant to be will happen."
Subsequently, Kourtney became pregnant but made the decision not to discuss it on screen. "The entire season [I was pregnant]," she said to the cameras during Thursday's episode, while past footage showed her being asked by Kyle Jenner if she was expecting.
Additional footage was gathered to highlight the frequency of Kourtney expressing her fatigue, indicating her vulnerability, and eliminating caffeine from her diet before revealing her decision to eat meat despite being a vegan. Kourtney described the experience as a "miracle" for her and Travis in a confessional.
"I am currently five months pregnant, but I haven't shared the news widely. I've confided in my closest friends, family, and children," she shared. "It's funny because people always say that when you stop trying, it just happens. We had actually stopped doing IVF about two months before our wedding in May 2022. It took a year for all the hormones and chemicals to leave my system. We weren't even trying. I had stopped tracking my ovulation altogether."
Although she didn't reveal the news on her reality show, Kardashian made the announcement in June by holding up a handwritten sign at a Blink-182 concert that read, "Travis, I'm pregnant."
Three months later, Kourtney announced that she had to undergo emergency fetal surgery and was rushed to the hospital. It was confirmed earlier this month that the reality star welcomed a baby boy, whom she and Barker named Rocky Thirteen.
