It may be difficult to believe, but there was a time when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were happily married.

A decade ago, before all the recent drama with Kardashian and Pete Davidson or West's controversial statements, the couple exchanged vows in Florence, Italy. Their wedding took place on May 24, 2014 at the Forte di Belvedere, with 200 guests in attendance.

The list of star-studded attendees at the event included John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Jaden Smith, and Alexander Wang. Tyga and Blac Chyna were also there together, but they later split up. Tyga, who is 34 years old, then began dating Kylie Jenner, Kim's sister, from 2015 to 2017. Meanwhile, Chyna, who is 36 years old, dated Rob Kardashian, Kim's brother, from 2016 to 2017. Rob, who is 37 years old, famously attended Kim and West’s rehearsal dinner at the Palace of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors but decided to skip the wedding at the last minute.

During a 2016 interview with People, Rob explained why he missed the wedding. He mentioned that he was in Paris for suit fittings right before the wedding and didn't feel comfortable. At his heaviest, he weighed around 300 lbs and was 6’1″ tall. Seeing pictures of himself at the airport with cameras made him unhappy. Despite regretting missing his sister's wedding, he emphasized that it was a personal decision.

Kim's stepbrother Brody Jenner was also missing from the ceremony. Rumors suggested that he boycotted the event because his then-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter was not invited.

In a 2014 episode of the "Brody Jenner and Dr. Mike Dow" podcast, Brody, 40, clarified the situation. He mentioned that he had work commitments and the location of the ceremony was far away. After receiving the invitation, he informed Kim that he would not be able to attend but wished her the best. Despite speculations, he emphasized that Kaitlynn was okay with his decision. (It was later hinted that Kaitlynn's absence might have played a role in his absence. Eventually, Brody and Kaitlynn, 35, went their separate ways, and she gained public attention for her relationship with Miley Cyrus.)

Guests at the event were treated to a special moment when Caitlyn Jenner escorted Kim down the aisle, accompanied by a performance from Andrea Bocelli. Kim was surprised by Bocelli's presence, as she was not informed beforehand.

Recalling the moment, Kim shared with the Daily Mail in June 2014, "I walked up to the altar and was completely taken aback when I saw him standing there. I initially thought it was a recording of his voice playing. But when I turned around and saw him singing live, I was truly amazed. It was such a Kanye move to have him there. I should have seen it coming."

Kim, West, and their oldest daughter, North, who was 11 months old at the time, all dressed in custom Givenchy for the special occasion. It is usually not recommended for anyone besides the bride to wear white, but Kim made an exception for baby North, who looked absolutely adorable in her cap-sleeved dress. However, Kim was not too thrilled when Kylie, who was 26 at the time, decided to dye her hair blue shortly before the wedding.

"I can't help but keep looking at her blue hair. Why did she have to have blue hair at my wedding?" Kim expressed her frustration in a confessional during the season 9 finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Kim and West started their wedding week with a lavish trip to Paris, accompanied by their close friends and family. The night before the wedding, Lana Del Rey performed at their rehearsal dinner in Versailles. On the big day, the couple and their guests flew to Italy, some on commercial flights and others on private planes.

Despite their fairytale wedding, Kim and Yeezy's marriage did not have a happily ever after ending. Kim, who has four children with West - North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm - filed for divorce in February 2021. The former couple finalized their divorce in 2022.

Kim and West have had disagreements since their breakup. West has accused Kim of keeping their kids away from him publicly, which Kim denied. Kim also spoke out against hate speech after West's antisemitic comments in October 2022. Despite this, they are trying to maintain peace for their children.

According to a source, Kim and Kanye have a civil relationship focused on their kids. Kim values North's positive bond with Kanye's new partner, Bianca Censori. They both respect each other's personal lives and privacy, understanding that it is not their place to interfere.

While Kimye is kaput, we’ll always have the season 9 finale of KUWTK, which ended with Kim getting ready to walk down the aisle while West’s song “Awesome” played in the background.
