Reese Witherspoon Creates Memorable ‘Summer Nights’ With Daughter Ava Amidst Divorce Settlement with Jim Toth

Reese Witherspoon was all smiles with daughter Ava Phillippe after settling her divorce from ex-husband Jim Toth.

On Thursday, August 3, Witherspoon, aged 47, shared an endearing photo on Instagram featuring herself and her 23-year-old daughter, Ava. The picture showcased the two of them happily posing together, leaning against each other, and savoring wine. They also sported matching trendy black sunglasses. Witherspoon, who co-parents Ava and her 19-year-old son Deacon with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, captioned the post by expressing her enjoyment of summer nights with her beloved daughter. In response, Ava took to the comments section to praise her mom.

“Love you so much!” she wrote, while stars like Leslie Mann and Allyson Felix showed their support by commenting heart emojis.

Witherspoon's social media post came shortly after the details of her and Toth's divorce settlement were made public. According to the legal documents obtained by We, the actress and Toth, aged 53, will have joint custody of their son Tennessee, who is 10 years old. They will also divide his expenses equally. (The couple, who are not seeking any child or spousal support, have also requested to waive the requirement for a parenting seminar as they have been effectively co-parenting since their separation.) Additionally, Witherspoon and Toth will maintain ownership of their respective vehicles and bank accounts.

Witherspoon and Toth announced their divorce in March, ending their almost 12-year marriage. In a joint statement on Instagram, they expressed the careful and thoughtful nature behind their decision. They acknowledged the many enjoyable years they spent together and emphasized their commitment to approaching the future with love, kindness, and mutual respect for the life they have built as a family.

Highlighting their utmost concern for the well-being of their children, particularly Tennessee, the ex-couple emphasized that their entire family remains the most important aspect as they navigate through this new chapter in their lives.

In July, Witherspoon spoke more openly about her separation from Toth. "All I can do is be honest and open, and allow myself to be vulnerable," she expressed to Harper's Bazaar at that time. "It's a vulnerable period for me ... I consider how many others are going through the same thing. I don't feel alone at all. I feel deeply connected."

Throughout her divorce, Witherspoon has cherished moments with her three children. In May, she posted a picture on Instagram of her family. In the selfie, Ava embraced Witherspoon while Deacon and Tennessee could be seen playing together in the background on a beach. "I feel so fortunate to be their mother," she wrote as a caption.

In the same month, Witherspoon and Ava had a great time attending Taylor Swift's Eras Tour together. In the photo, Ava could be seen wearing a bedazzled corset top and dancing to Swift's songs. Witherspoon expressed, "An unforgettable night! It was fantastic to experience it with you."
