America Ferrera means business – according to her Governors Awards 2024 outfit.
Ferrera, 39, looked stunning at the red carpet event on Tuesday, January 9, wearing a custom black tuxedo and bow tie by Moschino. The ensemble included high-waisted trousers, a black button-up shirt, and a tailored blazer with sleek lapels. She completed the look with pointed-toe black pumps, diamond stud earrings, and bright red nail polish.
For her makeup, Ferrera opted for a soft, dewy foundation, rosy cheeks, warm eyeshadow, and a light pink lip. Her dark brown bob was styled with a side part and flipped up ends.
Ferrera was styled by celebrity stylist Kara Welch, who expressed her excitement over her work via Instagram after the event. “The feeling when I finally put you in a tux,” Welch — who also styles Tracee Ellis Ross, Greta Gerwig, Sarah Paulson, Hailey Bieber and more — captioned a polaroid of Ferrera in the outfit.

Ferrera's outfit is a dramatic departure from the sequin Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore at the Golden Globes on January 7. The long, flattering gown, which made it to We's Top 5 Best Dressed List, showcases pearl flowers throughout.
Ferrera expressed her admiration for the look and Welch, who also served as her stylist for the event, on Instagram, stating, "An amazing experience to collaborate with you in the world of fashion. You are a genius at showcasing the finest."
