Red Dead Redemption Trailer: A Fiery Storm of Dislikes Erupts

The highly anticipated trailer for Red Dead Redemption's Nintendo Switch and PS4 ports receives an overwhelming wave of dislikes from disappointed fans, expressing their discontent

Highlights

Fans are upset with the PS4 and Switch ports of Red Dead Redemption, as they were hoping for a remaster or remake of the original game.

Fans are even more disappointed with the re-release as it lacks improvements and is being sold at a price of $49.99. Moreover, the game does not offer online multiplayer and does not have versions specifically designed for PS5 and Xbox Series X, which adds to fans' frustration.

The trailer for the PS4 and Switch versions of Red Dead Redemption has received an overwhelming number of dislikes on YouTube, with 112,000 dislikes compared to just 36,000 likes as of now. Fans have long been requesting Rockstar Games to expand the availability of the original Red Dead Redemption, but many had hoped for a remastered or remake version.

Regrettably, the return of Red Dead Redemption does not include a remake or remaster of the original game. It also excludes a PC port, which means PC gamers who enjoyed Red Dead Redemption 2 are still unable to continue the story on their preferred platform. Moreover, this re-release of Red Dead Redemption is being sold at $49.99, despite lacking any significant enhancements.

The Red Dead Redemption re-release, including the Undead Nightmare DLC, does not include the online multiplayer from the original game, resulting in a lack of content compared to the original version released in 2010. This has caused significant dissatisfaction among fans, as evident by the high number of dislikes on the game's trailer on YouTube. Take-Two's CEO has defended the $59.99 price point, further aggravating fans. Additionally, fans are disappointed by the absence of native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X, and Xbox users are left with the Xbox 360 version, which is available at a significantly lower price than the re-release.

After the disappointment of the Grand Theft Auto trilogy remaster, it would be expected that precautions would be taken to prevent a similar controversy with Red Dead Redemption. Unfortunately, that is not the case. As Red Dead Redemption is set to arrive on PS4 and Switch next week, fans shouldn't anticipate any delays. They will have to accept what they're given and hope that the PC version of this open world western will become available in the future. Currently, Red Dead Redemption is available for PS3 and Xbox 360, with the PS4 and Switch versions scheduled for release on August 17.
