Rebel Wilson is sharing stories from her early days in Hollywood in her Rebel Rising memoir, including encounters with some of the worst costars she's ever worked with.

In a recent Instagram video on Friday, March 15, Wilson, who is 44 years old, recalled how when she first arrived in Hollywood, she heard about a policy where people refused to work with "assholes." At first, she thought it made sense, but then she realized they were referring to older individuals in the industry.

The actress from Pitch Perfect shared that she had a bad experience working with a difficult person in a movie. She mentioned that she now has a policy of not working with unpleasant individuals. In her memoir, she devoted a chapter to talk about this person, describing him as a huge jerk.

Wilson did not mention the individual in her social media video, but she hinted in her Instagram caption that his identity will be disclosed in her upcoming memoir, which will be released on April 2.

In a post on Friday, she teased, "Curious about why I have a 'no assholes' policy when it comes to people I work with? The answer lies in my book: REBEL RISING, now available for pre-order. And yes, I do reveal the name of the individual!" (Rebel Rising will be available in bookstores on April 2.)

Wilson has not provided more details yet, but this is not the first time she has said she experienced inappropriate behavior from her colleagues. About five years ago, Wilson stated that she was sexually harassed by a "male star." (It is unclear if the "massive jerk" from Rebel Rising is the same person.)

Rebel Wilson shared in a now-deleted post in November 2017 that she was creating new comedy overseas but found it difficult to hear about sexual harassment and assault stories in Hollywood. She expressed her support for the "Me Too" movement, acknowledging that even as a strong and confident person, she too had a story to tell.

She shared that a male star, who was in a position of power, requested her to go into a room with him. He then repeatedly asked her to stick her finger up his behind while his male 'friends' tried to film the incident on their iPhones and laughed. Despite her repeated refusals, she managed to eventually leave the room.

After the unsettling experience, Wilson quickly contacted her agent and her attorney promptly filed a complaint with the film studio.

"It was basically to protect myself that in the event something similar ever occurred I’d be able to walk out of the job and not obligated to return," she mentioned via X at the time. "Later I was threatened by one of the star’s representatives to be nice and support the star. I refused. The whole thing was disgusting."

While Wilson did not identify the male actor or his pals, several social media users resurfaced a 2014 interview in which she accused Sacha Baron Cohen, whom she worked with on The Brothers Grimsby, of harassment.

"Sacha is always coming up with wild ideas. He keeps telling me to go naked because it would be funny, but I always say no," Wilson shared on the Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia. "We both have the same agent in America, so I threatened to tell her about his constant teasing. He would bring up the naked scene from Borat and insist that it was hilarious, but I stood my ground. Eventually, I thought I had won the argument, but he ended up using a body double for the naked scene on the last day of filming."

During the filming of the final scene, Wilson claimed that things took an unexpected turn. "Sacha asked me to stick my finger up his butt, which was not in the script," she revealed. "I was taken aback and questioned him about it, but he insisted that it would be a funny addition to the scene if I did it while he pulled down his pants."

Baron Cohen, who is now 52 years old, never publicly talked about the allegations. We tried to contact him for a comment.

Wilson had also accused a well-known movie director of harassment during an interview with the BBC in 2021. She said he invited her to his hotel room, claiming it was to help her with her comedy career.

"He kept pressuring me to drink more alcohol," she claimed, without revealing the filmmaker's name. Wilson then mentioned overhearing a phone call between him and his wife. "She was accusing him of having me in the hotel room with intentions to be intimate," Wilson shared. "When I heard that, I was shocked. It made me wonder what was really going on." The sound of his wife's distressed voice on the phone made Wilson fear for the worst.

Feeling uncomfortable, Wilson decided to leave the room and promised herself to keep the encounter a secret.
