Jude Bellingham has officially transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid. The talented midfielder from England has signed a six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, and if the add-ons are included, the deal could see him become the most expensive player in his country's history with a staggering price tag of £115m.
Real Madrid has agreed to pay an initial fee of £88.5m to acquire Bellingham, who is set to be officially presented as a member of the Los Blancos team on Thursday morning at 11am. The midfielder is departing from Dortmund after spending three seasons with the club, during which he was recognized as the Bundesliga Player of the Year in the most recent season.
"On the Dortmund website, Bellingham expressed his gratitude towards everyone at BVB and the fans for their unwavering support over the past three years. He acknowledged the privilege of wearing the jersey on numerous occasions, both in significant and minor moments. Despite the anticipation of his next destination, he emphasized that the journey with Borussia will always hold a special place in his heart. He concluded with well wishes for the future."
"We express our gratitude to Jude for his dedicated three-year service to Borussia Dortmund. Our time together was truly fantastic," said Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of Dortmund. He also extended his appreciation to Real Madrid for their consistently fair and productive negotiations.

During Bellingham's peak performance in the World Cup with England, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti commented on his skill level and where he stands among the top young midfielders in the world. Ancelotti acknowledged Bellingham's talent but ultimately expressed his loyalty to his own team's young midfielders, who he believes are also very skilled.
The fact that Real Madrid has a rich history in the midfield position was a subtle reminder, despite Bellingham being a highly coveted midfielder in the upcoming transfer window. This begs the question as to where Bellingham would fit in and if he would even be assured of a spot in the starting line-up.
