Infinity Ward has revamped the method of equipping and personalizing gear for missions in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 campaign. Introducing Open Combat Missions that function similarly to Warzone or DMZ, players are required to scavenge and discover equipment throughout the mission area to expand the arsenal of weapons and gear available for the mission. Any weapon, field upgrade, or tactical equipment that is found will remain permanently accessible at the beginning of the campaign mission when creating a loadout. Additionally, these items carry over to different difficulty levels, enabling players to gather all the supply crates on Recruit or Regular difficulty for later utilization on Hardened or Veteran difficulty.
West Side
Players have the opportunity to locate all 29 weapon supply crates beforehand in the Reactor mission, prior to entering the reactor area. By utilizing the spotter scope, players can effectively tag the crates and permanently mark their locations.
A-2 Supply Crate
The initial crate can be located on the mission map's far left edge, within the building at A-2. This specific building possesses only one door, which is jammed and incapable of being opened externally. Conveniently, the metal gate of this structure allows the crate to be visible from outside, simplifying the task of identifying the correct building.
The building in question is moderately guarded by a small number of adversaries. Subdue them and proceed towards the rooftop to locate an access point for entry. Inside the crate awaits a Silenced Holger 556, an assault rifle equipped with a thermal scope suitable for engaging targets within medium to long ranges.
B-2 Supply Crate
You can locate an additional crate situated on top of the extensive warehouse in B-2. Unfortunately, there are no means of reaching the roof through the use of a ladder or stairs. However, if players venture towards the southern end of the warehouse, they will discover an ascension line. By ascending this line, players will be able to access the box, inside which lies an Incendiary MCW assault rifle.
C-5 Supply Crate
In the middle of the concrete building at C-5, players will discover another supply crate. By searching the Southeast corner, they will uncover the crate containing an Incendiary Sakin MG38, a valuable addition to their arsenal.
C-6 Supply Crate
A crate containing the KV Inhibitor sniper rifle can be discovered at the summit of the radio tower in C-6. This powerful weapon features a variable zoom capability but lacks a suppressor, meaning that firing it will alert nearby enemies. Utilizing the tower as a vantage point, players can effectively employ the spotter gadget to identify and mark both adversaries and valuable resources on their map. It's worth noting that once a supply crate is tagged, its precise location will be saved on the tactical map.
The next crate can be found at the summit of the circular stone structure in D-4, close to the initial Konni Helicopter that necessitates demolition. Ascend the structure using the wooden slats and locate the supply crate positioned on a leftward ledge. Inside this crate, players will discover a Silenced COR-45, a semi-automatic pistol known for its dependable firing rate.
D-4 Supply Crate
Inside the fire station garage located at D-6, you will come across a crate. This area is guarded by a number of enemies. To access the crate, it is advised to approach the fire station from the south and enter through one of the windows on the first floor. Once inside, proceed to take down the first enemy found in the hallway.
Then, proceed to the following window and enter the firehouse garage to neutralize the two adversaries in close proximity to the laptop. Once all opponents have been subdued, locate the supply crate positioned to the right of the table hosting the laptop, and unseal it to reveal a Snapshot Pulse.
To find another supply crate in the fire station at D-6, players will need to first reach the top of the building. Climb up to the roof and then take the stairs to the second roof level. From there, climb the crates to reach the third level and enter the belfry through a window. Inside, there will be a grated floor with a grenade placed beside it.
Gaze downwards into the pit to observe an explosive barrel and a chair wedged beneath a door handle. Utilize either the grenade or the explosive barrel to eradicate the chair and open the door below. It is advised for players to leap out of one of the windows on the Western wall and descend to the ground floor.
Re-enter the fire station by climbing through a window, and the previously locked area will now be accessible on the right-hand side. Within this room, players will discover a considerable assortment of armor plates and ammunition, as well as a supply crate containing a Minigun to enhance the mission arsenal.
Northeast Corner
D-6 Supply Crates
The upcoming crate can be located in E-2, situated on the rooftop of the expansive warehouse in close proximity to the electrical generators. In order to access the roof, players can utilize the ascension lines available on both ends of the warehouse. Upon reaching the rooftop, they will be rewarded with a Sidewinder assault rifle equipped with a versatile hybrid sight that seamlessly switches between a thermal scope and a canted reflex sight.
E-2 Supply Crate
On the northern edge of the circular compound in E, situated on the border of zones 3 and 4, lies an additional supply crate. To access it, ascend the stairs within the circular area to reach the highest point, where the supply crate awaits on a metal platform near an ascension line. Unveiling the contents of this supply crate will equip players with a Heartbeat Sensor, a valuable addition to their arsenal for this specific mission.
E-3 Supply Crate
There is an additional supply crate located on the second floor Northwest corner in E-4 within the circular compound. Adjacent to the zipline, players will discover the crate containing a Silenced Expedite shotgun.
E-4 Supply Crate
The next crate can be located in G-2 within an office building. The building has multiple rooms, with only one room accessible. However, the innermost room is currently locked. From one of the windows, players will be able to spot the weapon supply crate inside the locked room, but there are no entry points from the first floor.
To access the crate, players can utilize the nearby truck to climb onto the roof. From there, they can drop into the locked room through one of the skylights. Within the room, the supply crate will be placed on a couch, containing a Basilisk revolver equipped with armor-piercing ammunition.
G-2 Supply Crate
Located on the border of G and H, and 3 and 4 on the grid map, lies an armory where players can discover a supply crate. Within this armory, players have the opportunity to replenish their ammunition and gather essential supplies. Moreover, by opening the supply crate, players can acquire the coveted field upgrade, Anti-Armor Rounds.
G-3 Supply Crate
Located within the H-3 compound, adjacent to the Konni helicopter, lies a supply crate. Upon eliminating all threats within the compound, venture to the direct West of the helicopter's coordinates to discover this valuable crate. Within its confines, you shall unearth the Hybrid STB 556 assault rifle, equipped with a formidable high-powered scope and a convenient under-barrel grenade launcher.
Players will find a second crate to the Southeast of the helicopter in the open compound area that will give players a PILA launcher.
Southeast Corner
H-3 Supply Crates
In the center channel of the compound in E-5, players will come across two adjacent supply crates. Guarding this compound are around 6 to 7 enemies, along with a sentry turret positioned at the southern end of the lane where the crates are situated.
If players possess a stun stick, they can throw it at the sentry turret to deactivate it after a short delay. Inside these two crates, players will discover an HCR 56 assault rifle equipped with a holographic sight, as well as an Incendiary Haymaker semi-automatic shotgun loaded with dragon breath rounds.
E-5 Supply Crate
In the compound located in F-5, players will come across another supply crate. To locate it, proceed upstairs and scan along the East ledge while facing the reactor. Inside the supply crate, players will discover a Munitions Box.
F-5 Supply Crate
Adjacent to the Loadout Crate, atop the F-6 building, rests a supply crate. Accessing this rooftop treasure trove is made easy by a ladder on the building's western side. Inside the supply crate lies a concealed weapon: the Silenced Vel 46 SMG.
Inside the building, there is an additional supply crate. Unfortunately, both entrances are stuck and there are no entryways through the roof. In order to gain access, players will need to locate a window that provides a view into the room and either throw a grenade or shoot at one of the chairs, preventing the doors from opening.
Once the chair is destroyed, players can enter the room and open the supply crate to add the Armor Box to the Reactor mission arsenal.

F-6 Supply Crates
Players will discover an additional crate located in D on the border of 4 and 5, positioned directly behind the initial Konni helicopter. Eliminate the helicopter and the nearby troops before proceeding to unlock the crate. Opening this supply crate will grant access to the RGL-80 grenade launcher, which will now be available for use in the mission.
D-4 Supply Crate
There is a supply crate located in G-4 on the rear of a cargo truck. This crate contains an Incendiary MTZ Interceptor, which is a semi-automatic marksman rifle equipped with a holographic sight.
On the Northwest corner of the roof of the reactor in the G-4 building, players will find another supply crate that will add the Explosive Crossbow to the mission arsenal.
G-4 Supply Crates
Located on the rooftop of the compound south of the G-6 reactor building, there is a supply crate positioned on the southern side, facing one of the Konni helicopters. Upon opening this supply crate, players will be granted a Signal 50 sniper rifle equipped with a versatile infrared scope.
G-6 Supply Crate
In the building south of the reactor in G-6, there is another supply crate that contains an Incendiary Bryson 800 shotgun. To locate this crate, go north from the Konni helicopter in G-7 towards the LTV with the sentry gun on the back, avoiding the gunshots. Proceed to the right, passing the front of the vehicle, and enter the double doors on the southern side of the building in G-6. The supply crate will be immediately inside the double doors.
From this crate, head through the door to the right towards H-6 and find another crate with a Silenced Lachmann Sub inside.
Players will come across an additional crate located at the southwest corner of the G-6 grid on the tactical map within the warehouse Northeast of the Konni helicopter. Within the crate, positioned along the Western wall on the ground, they will discover a Fennec 45 SMG to augment their mission arsenal.
Players will discover two adjacent crates located on the border of F and G in sector 7. These crates can be located behind one of the Konni helicopters. After successfully clearing the surrounding area, players will gain access to the crates. Within these crates, players will find valuable additions to their mission arsenal, including a Cronen Squall, an advanced assault rifle equipped with a versatile hybrid holographic/thermal ACOG scope, and a reliable Holger 26 LMG.
G-7 Supply Crates
There is a crate positioned on the crane in F-5. Players can quickly access it by deploying their parachute upon mission deployment and gliding towards the crane. The crate contains an Incendiary FJX Imperium sniper rifle, which can be added to the arsenal once the crate is opened.
Players will now have several options for weaponry to select when dropping in to replay the mission Reactor.
