Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has made its debut in Shibuya following the conclusion of Gojo's Past arc. The initial episode has been well-received. This series is renowned for its darker elements. As each storyline unfolds, the harsh realities of Jujutsu sorcery become increasingly apparent.
While Jujutsu Kaisen incorporates humor and captivating characters, it does not shy away from tragedy and emotionally impactful moments. In contrast to the first season, viewers can anticipate a higher number of character deaths in this ongoing season. Gege Akutami, the manga author, is unafraid to bid farewell to characters, even if they possess a strong fan base.
From Riko Amanai to Jogo: Here are 10 Major Deaths from Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2
1) Riko Amanai
Riko Amanai, also known as the Star Plasma Vessel, was fated to unite with Master Tengen and halt the process of their aging. This act of sacrifice is considered crucial in order to preserve the balance of our world. However, there are numerous dissenters who object to the idea of tainting Tengen's essence by merging with a mere human.
Gojo and Geto were tasked with being her protectors against curse users, but they were unable to shield her from Toji Fushiguro. Toji, who worked as an assassin for the Time Vessel Association, swiftly carried out his mission, taking only a single shot to bring an end to the girl's life.
2) Toji Fushiguro

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Toji engaged in intense battles against both Gojo and Geto. Though he emerged victorious over Gojo in their initial encounter and tragically ended Riko's life, he soon found himself facing Geto. Surprisingly, even the formidable sorcerer Geto proved no match for Toji, who possessed no cursed energy. Subsequently, Gojo resorted to employing Reversed Cursed Energy on himself, resulting in him becoming delirious due to the excessive use of his Limitless and Six Eyes techniques.
The confrontation between Gojo and Toji is swiftly concluded when Gojo unleashes his full power. Using his Hollow Purple Technique, Gojo obliterates half of Toji's torso. In his final moments, Toji discloses that his son, Megumi, will be sold to the Zenin Clan and gives Gojo permission to do as he pleases. Although he doesn't explicitly state it, Toji implores Gojo to rescue his son, and Gojo agrees.
3) Yu Haibara

Yu Haibara, a student under Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen, tragically met his end off-screen. During a joint mission with Nanami, he unfortunately perished while facing a Grade 2 curse - a task that should have been relatively simple.
Due to their superiors' negligence, a miscommunication occurred regarding the curse's powers, leading to the discovery that it was actually a powerful deity of the area, thereby elevating it to the level of a Grade 1 curse.
Although Nanami is now acknowledged as a formidable sorcerer in the series, he lacked the necessary expertise to confront such an advanced curse at that time. Additionally, Haibara was even less capable than him. As a result, Haibara lost their life in the battle, leaving Nanami overwhelmed with regret.
4) Kokichi Muta (Mechamaru)

One of the most shocking moments in Jujutsu Kaisen occurred when Kokichi Muta, a character in the show, met his demise. It was revealed that Muta had been working as a traitor, a realization that confirmed Gojo's worst fears. Despite possessing immense cursed energy thanks to his Heavenly Restricted Body, Muta suffered from physical weakness and missing limbs.
In a desperate attempt to improve his life, Muta made a deal with Mahito's group. He agreed to provide them with valuable information about the Jujutsu schools in exchange for Mahito's ability to transform his body. While Muta did gain a new body through this arrangement, he ultimately found himself in a fateful battle against Mahito. Unfortunately, Muta was unable to keep up with the powerful curse and tragically lost his life.
5) Hanami

Hanami, a powerful curse, caused chaos at Jujutsu Tech High School. They were struck by Gojo's Hollow Purple while trying to escape. Despite barely surviving that encounter, Hanami faced Gojo again during the Shibuya Incident Arc.
Predicting the outcome of the battle isn't challenging when facing the strongest sorcerer alive. Gojo fearlessly confronts both Hanami and Jogo. Although Jogo manages to avoid capture, Gojo successfully exorcises Hanami. Given the character deaths in Jujutsu Kaisen, it was no surprise that Hanami met a swift demise.
6) Dagon

Dagon was initially introduced in the Jujutsu Kaisen series, but it was during the Shibuya Incident arc that his power significantly increased, thanks to consuming numerous humans. Once he became strong enough, he ensnared the sorcerers within his Domain Expansion. Abilities combined, Nanami, Naobito, and Maki were still unable to contend with Dagon's overwhelming strength.
Megumi attempted to enter the domain using his Chimera Shadow Garden technique, but unfortunately, his skills proved insufficient. Just when all hope appeared to be lost, Toji entered the domain and effortlessly defeated the curse, acting solely on instinct. Dagon severely underestimated Toji, who possessed no energy, and paid a high price for it.
7) Naobito Zen'in

Naobito, a member of the Zenin Clan, participated in the Shibuya Incident arc of the Jujutsu Kaisen series. He showed bravery as he fought on the frontlines during this event. Naobito, alongside Nanami, Maki, and Megumi, confronted the curse of Dagon but unfortunately, they were unable to come out as victors.
In the end, Toji entered the curse's domain and effortlessly defeated him. When the domain disappeared, Jogo discovered that his comrade had been killed. Filled with anger, Jogo attacked Maki, Naobito, and Nanami before leaving to check on Yuji. While Maki and Nanami survived the assault, Naobito tragically succumbed to his injuries.
8) Mimiko and Nanako

During this season of Jujutsu Kaisen, a tragic incident unfolds, entangling Mimiko Hasaba and Nanako Hasaba. The villagers wrongly accuse them of being the culprits behind the deaths in their community.
As the season unfolds, Sukuna, who has possessed Itadori's body, cold-heartedly dismisses their pleas. Sukuna mercilessly mutilates Mimiko, leaving Nanako consumed by anger and a desire for revenge. However, Nanako's confrontation with Sukuna ultimately culminates in a horrifying and tragic outcome.
9) Jogo

Despite his loss against Gojo, Jogo's pride and arrogance remained intact. He always had unwavering confidence in things going his way, even though this belief came at a cost. Among the deaths in Jujutsu Kaisen, Jogo's demise is particularly satisfying, considering his numerous heinous acts.
In a forceful act, Jogo forcefully feeds Yuji ten of Sukuna's fingers, granting the boy 15 fingers' worth of power. As expected, Yuji is unable to handle the overwhelming surge of power, allowing the King of Curses to take control of his body. Thankfully for Yuji, Sukuna's first priority is to deal with the bothersome Jogo.
The enthralling and exhilarating storyline of Jujutsu Kaisen utilizes character fatalities to heighten the suspense and propel the narrative. These character deaths have a significant impact in shaping the plot and nurturing the development of the main characters.
