The live-action Snow White project, directed by Marc Webb, features a script penned by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson from Barbie. This musical fantasy film was first announced in 2016 but faced delays due to Disney's multiple similar projects and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Production for the project finally commenced in March 2022, and it is currently in the post-production phase. With ample time remaining for final touches, the film is set to be released in early 2024.

Disney is expected to stick with the main story points of the original animated feature in the film, but they are also taking creative liberties to modernize the narrative. Instead of being a damsel in distress, Zegler's Snow White will be a proactive character who courageously fights the Evil Queen who is pursuing her. Additionally, Snow White will have a new love interest named Jonathan, portrayed by Andrew Burnap, who is described as a Robin Hood-like figure.

The first glimpse of Snow White was unveiled at the D23 Expo 2022. Unfortunately, the marketing materials for the film were exclusively shared with attendees of the convention, leaving the general public eagerly awaiting any official promos. However, as the release date approaches, Disney is expected to start promoting the film sooner rather than later.
