Rachel Zegler fiercely responds to critics of Snow White hate

Rachel Zegler bravely addresses and dismisses the unjust criticism towards Snow White, displaying unwavering confidence and resilience during her conversation with Halle Bailey

In a recent discussion with Halle Bailey, Rachel Zegler stood up against the harsh and unjust criticism of Snow White. Despite being relatively new to Hollywood, with just under three years in the industry, Zegler has already made a significant impact.

She first appeared in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story, then moved on to DC's Shazam 2, and is now working on the Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. However, it was her comments about the original Snow White that sparked backlash, and she has recently responded to those leading the negative campaign.

Zegler isn’t worried about harsh Snow White critics

The criticism of Zegler's Snow White started when a video clip of the actress went viral, in which she mentioned that the reboot would prioritize female empowerment over "true love," and humorously referred to the prince as a "stalker."

Her comments stirred up anger from devoted Snow White fans who were hoping for Disney to scrap the film entirely and, in order to achieve that, they were considering boycotting Zegler’s upcoming Hunger Games film in hopes that Disney might replace her.

Zegler remained relatively silent about the backlash until she eventually spoke about it during her Actors on Actors discussion with fellow Disney princess Halle Bailey.

Zegler emphasized that opting for thankfulness and gratefulness means choosing peace. She also pointed out the ineffectiveness of verbally reminding people that being in the spotlight doesn't exempt them from having human moments. Instead, she suggested choosing to be empathetic and understanding, recognizing that they may just be having a difficult day, despite being in the spotlight for a movie.

Zegler is not the first to criticize the messaging of Snow White, as Disney fans have been vocal about the need to update the 1937 classic for a modern audience. Despite criticism, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes made almost $300 million, so it seems unlikely that Disney will be dropping her any time soon.

Editor's P/S

As a fan of Rachel Zegler, I am incredibly proud of the way she has handled the criticism surrounding her upcoming role as Snow White. Despite being relatively new to the industry, she has shown remarkable poise and maturity in addressing the backlash. Her comments about choosing thankfulness and gratefulness over negativity demonstrate her strength of character and her commitment to her craft. I believe that her positive attitude and resilience will serve her well in her future endeavors, and I am excited to see her continue to shine on the big screen.

Furthermore, I am disappointed by the behavior of those who have criticized Zegler's comments. It is important to remember that actors are human beings, and they are entitled to their own opinions and interpretations of the roles they play. The fact that some fans are willing to boycott Zegler's upcoming film in an attempt to silence her is not only unfair but also counterproductive. I hope that these individuals will reconsider their actions and allow Zegler to express herself freely without fear of reprisal.
