The Pumpkin Scissors manga series, written and illustrated by Iwanaga Ryoutarou, first debuted in 2002 in Kodansha's Magazine Great. Due to its increasing popularity and positive reception from fans, the series was later moved to Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2006.
Unfortunately, the Pumpkin Scissors manga series went on hiatus in March 2020 for reasons that were undisclosed. Many fans speculated that the author's health may have been a factor in halting the series. However, the good news is that after nearly four years, the series is set to make a comeback in April 2024.
Del Ray, a publishing company, released only 5 volumes of the manga series in English between November 2007 and August 2009 before discontinuing all activities related to it. Kodansha Comics USA took over the series and began digitally publishing it in 2016.
The Pumpkin Scissors manga series was adapted into an anime in October 2006 by Studio Gonzo and AIC (Anime International Company). Due to financial issues, Studio Gonzo merged with its parent company in April 2009 and has been inactive since 2020.
