Production Start Date for The Last of Us Season 2 Unveiled

The Last of Us, a popular HBO series, is set to return for its second season. Production is expected to start in January 2024 in Vancouver, according to Production List. Cameras will officially begin rolling on January 7, 2024. This start-date aligns with HBO boss Casey Bloys' earlier statement that Season 2 would commence filming in early 2024. However, fans will have to wait patiently as the second season is not anticipated to premiere until 2025 or later.

After debuting in January 2023, the TV show "The Last of Us," based on the popular Naughty Dog game series, quickly gained success. HBO wasted no time in greenlighting a second season. Unfortunately, writer and actor strikes hindered progress. Fortunately, the strikes have ended, allowing Craig Mazine and Neil Druckmann to resume their plans for Season 2.

House of the Dragon, another prominent HBO series, is scheduled to make its return in Summer 2024 for its second season. Unlike many other shows affected by the Hollywood strikes, House of the Dragon remained unaffected and continued production as planned. Moving on to the Last of Us game series, it has been reported that Naughty Dog's multiplayer game, The Last of Us, has been temporarily postponed. Additionally, while there have been discussions about the potential development of The Last of Us: Part III by Naughty Dog, no official announcement has been made as of yet.

As a fan of The Last of Us, I am thrilled to hear that production for Season 2 is set to begin in January 2024. The first season was a huge success, and I can't wait to see what the next chapter in the story will bring.
