Despite the crew's assumption that the Orions are pirates, Boimler challenges their 23rd-century perspective, suggesting that such an assumption is offensive to future Orions. Through a few bumps in the road, Boimler successfully changes Pike and his crew's perception of the Orions, which undoubtedly fosters positive change for the future.

Additionally, Boimler plays a vital role in assisting the Enterprise in tracking the Orion ship. While Pike and his crew deliberately avoid observing his 24th-century knowledge, Boimler discreetly updates the ship to avoid any temporal violations.
