Taylor Swift was seen sporting the popular athletic skort from POPFLEX Active in her recent social media videos for "Fortnight." Designer Cassey Ho believes that this item is a great addition to her collection.
Ho, 37, expressed her surprise and excitement about Taylor choosing the Pirouette skort from POPFLEX. She had originally envisioned Taylor wearing the Go With the Flow Jumpsuit from the collection.
She mentioned, "It looks like her style and will be back in stock in May. Maybe she'll see it then. It's a beautiful one-piece with flowy legs, tight arms, a big square neck, and empire waist. I think it suits her well, she could even wear it on a date with Travis Kelce and look adorable. Plus, it has pockets too!" (Swift has been dating Kelce, both 34, since summer 2023.)
Swift initially showcased her lavender Pirouette skort in a social media video on April 19, pairing it with the brand’s matching corset bra and a fitted white shirt from Rumored. The skort is Ho’s favorite piece in her collection and seeing Swift, whom the designer admires greatly, wear it has been a dream come true for her.
Ho was surprised when she saw that Taylor Swift had purchased the skort, wondering how she found out about it. He couldn't believe it, thinking she might have seen it on TikTok and gotten influenced. It wasn't a gift from the brand, but she wore it in a 'Fortnight' video, which made Ho ecstatic. It was a dream come true for him, as he had always wanted his designs on Swift more than any other artist or celebrity.
Swift's support for POPFLEX went even further when she sported more pieces in a YouTube Short video of her Eras Tour rehearsals on April 25. She was seen dancing in the Pirouette skort, coordinating corset bra, Twirl Skort, and Criss-Cross Booty Shorts, taking Ho's dreams to a whole new level.
“That’s four items in one video,” Ho exclaimed. “Like, she’s wearing it so much, I can’t believe it.”

Taylor Swift has not personally met Ho, except for when she went to a “secret sessions” listening party for 1989 in 2014. Despite this, she appreciates the pop star's support for her “bootstrap” business.
Ho expressed her gratitude towards Taylor for the significant impact she has had on her personally. Taylor's lyrics helped her heal from heartbreak and provided her with strength during challenging times as an entrepreneur, similar to Taylor's own experiences with people taking advantage of her.
In 2019, Swift fought for control of her music catalog, leading her to rerecord and release her past albums to regain ownership of her work. Similarly, Ho faced copyright issues when fast fashion retailers tried to copy her Pirouette skort design. She successfully obtained a patent for the design in January.
"We recently renamed the Pirouette skort to Cassey’s Version, kind of like saying, ‘This is the original, not a copy,’” she playfully mentioned to Us on Friday. “It’s just one of those little things that we Swifties like to do.”
The lavender Pirouette had already sold out before Swift even wore it. In response, Ho and her POPFLEX team decided to offer a limited preorder for fans who wanted to own the skirt. The new batch of Pirouette skorts is set to be shipped out in July.
Ho explained that the preorder for the skorts will take a few months because they need to weave the fabric and color-match it exactly to the lilac shade Taylor had in mind. This process is challenging due to the slight color changes that occur during dyeing, heat exposure, and cutting patterns. The skorts are being made from scratch to ensure high quality, and the team is working as quickly as possible to get them to Swifties.
Have you ever wondered what the best song is on Taylor Swift's album 'The Tortured Poets Department'?
Ho, in addition to creating Pirouette skorts and other POPFLEX products, is also dedicated to mentorship. She will be hosting and judging the final stage of The UPS Store Small Biz Challenge on May 16.
According to Ho, there were 6,000 small business entrepreneurs who entered the challenge, and three finalists will compete in Miami. She expressed her excitement about the event, emphasizing the importance of mentorship. Ho believes that support from those who understand the challenges of starting a business is crucial, especially when surrounded by doubters. She is looking forward to being a part of this valuable opportunity.
"I love supporting young entrepreneurs and helping them chase their dreams, just like Taylor Swift made mine come true. I'm all for empowering women and entrepreneurs to take risks and follow their hearts."
