Pine64 Unveils Powerful Linux Tablets with ARM and RISC-V Chips

Pine64 is launching a brand new Linux tablet powered by ARM and its first-ever RISC-V tablet These devices cater to Linux and open-source hardware enthusiasts, and offer users a unique and innovative experience

Pine64, a company specializing in Linux and open-source hardware, is set to release two new tablets. The PineTab 2, a successor to their original Linux tablet, will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow. It features an ARM chip, specifically the RK3566. The PineTab V, which also runs Linux, will also be available for pre-order at the same time. The only difference between the two tablets is the chassis color, with the PineTab V featuring a RISC-V CPU, the JH7110.

For those who prioritize stability, there is a CPU architecture with a well-documented history. Alternatively, for those who are interested in exploring a potentially popular architecture in the future, there is another option. Pine64 has recently announced the Star64 RISC-V single-board computer, and this new release is a continuation of that development.

If you’re interested in picking one up, pre-orders for both tablets start tomorrow, April 13.
