Phoebe Bridgers appeared to publicly acknowledge her relationship with Bo Burnham by sharing a photo of them together on her Instagram Story. The snapshot, posted on Sunday, August 6, depicted Bridgers, 28, sitting on a piano bench with her arm affectionately around Burnham, 32. The intimate photo, taken from behind, showed the Boygenius artist leaning in closely to her companion's face.
Bridgers and Burnham were previously spotted cozying up in the background of a TikTok video shared by Keith Urban in May. Urban, 55, captioned the clip of him dancing with his wife Nicole Kidman at one of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour performances and gave a shoutout to Taylor, her team, and all the Swifites who showered them with friendship bracelets. Bridgers, who was one of the opening acts for the tour, seemed to lean in for a kiss with Burnham while standing behind Urban and Kidman, and eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice.
Urban later apologized for unintentionally sharing the private moment online. When questioned about whether he had showcased their relationship during a July interview with Entertainment Tonight, Urban mentioned that Bridgers had subtly initiated contact with him after he uploaded the video.
“It was a bit uncomfortable,” he confessed. “I felt guilty. We were just enjoying the concert! You can never predict what will occur.”
Bridgers initiated rumors of a romance with Burnham in December 2022, coinciding with the apparent end of her two-year relationship with Paul Mescal.
While there is no public confirmation from either Bridgers or the 27-year-old Mescal regarding the breakup, the Aftersun actor expressed his frustration and sadness about the speculation during a Vanity Fair interview in February.
Mescal acknowledged that he often feels the urge to disclose the details of his personal life, but he believes it would not be wise to give a definite answer. He admits that the temptation to speak out and share his experiences is still there, despite the desire to keep his private life private.
As for Burnham, he started dating filmmaker Lorene Scafaria in 2013, but the couple has never publicly addressed any rumors about a potential breakup. In September 2019, the comedian expressed his admiration for Scafaria on Instagram, commending her for her work as the writer and director of the film Hustlers.
Having witnessed the entire process of making this film firsthand, as I resided with the brilliant individual responsible for its creation, I observed her perseverance in convincing others of its value and her aptitude for directing it. Those who dismissed her efforts were perhaps destined for less remarkable pursuits, such as selling cream cheese. Furthermore, I must emphasize the brilliance, warmth, humor, and sensuality that characterizes both this film and the woman behind it. My admiration for this movie and its creator knows no bounds.
