Atlus has accidentally let slip two major announcements for the Persona franchise, which were presumably intended for the Xbox Showcase on June 11. These exciting reveals include a remake of Persona 3 and a new spin-off game called Persona 5 Tactica. While there have been rumors and leaks surrounding both games, this marks the most substantial information to date for both projects. Fans are eagerly anticipating more details about what these exciting new additions to the Persona series will have in store.
Atlus recently teased the upcoming Persona 3 remake and Persona 5 spin-off game on their Instagram account, but unfortunately the trailers have been taken down. The Persona 3 remake, titled Persona 3 Reload, is set to release in early 2024 and will be available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X as a day one Xbox Game Pass game. However, it is unclear if the game will be available on other platforms. Meanwhile, Persona 5 Tactica will also be coming to the same platforms and Xbox Game Pass, with a confirmed release date of November 17, 2023.
Persona 5 Tactica is set to be a turn-based strategy game inspired by titles such as Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics. The Phantom Thieves from Persona 5 will be transported to a new world where they align with the Rebel Corps. Atlus has a successful track record with Persona spin-offs, so fans are hopeful that Persona 5 Tactica will live up to expectations. However, it's still too early to determine the game's ultimate success. While some fans are excited about the upcoming release, others may be disappointed that Atlus has not yet announced Persona 6. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that an announcement for the highly anticipated Persona 6 will be made anytime soon. Regardless, Persona 5 fans have much to look forward to, with the release of Persona 5 Tactica in November and Persona 3 Reload in early 2024.
Persona 5 Tactica will launch November 17 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
