One of the recent updates for Palworld has allowed Xbox players to change the names of their Pals, a feature that has been available to PC users since the game's early access launch. It was evident from the start that the PC version, particularly the one on Steam, had notable advantages over the Xbox version when Palworld was released on both platforms.
The PC version of Palworld introduced several features that were missing on Xbox, such as 32-player co-op and dedicated servers. As of now, these features have not been included in the Xbox version. However, upcoming updates are expected to bring the Steam and Xbox versions of Palworld closer together. This is highlighted by the recent update that finally allows Xbox players to give nicknames to their Pals.
Palworld players on Xbox can now give their Pals nicknames thanks to a new update. To change a Pal's name, simply go to the Party tab in the menu, choose the Pal you want to rename, and click "Edit" on the Pal's name in the top left corner of the screen. Then, just type in the new name for your Pal.
Go to Party
Click on the Pal
Click on "Edit" next to the Pal's name in the top left-hand corner of the screen
Type out the Pal's new name
While many Palworld console players will be happy to see this feature on Xbox, some may be disappointed that certain PC-only features are still missing. Currently, Palworld on Xbox is limited to 4-player co-op and lacks dedicated servers. However, the addition of this once PC-only feature may hint at more PC features coming to Xbox soon.
Multiple Palworld updates were recently released, showing Pocketpair's dedication to improving the game for its upcoming 1.0 release. Exciting updates are on the horizon, so Palworld fans should stay tuned for more.
