Palia Crafting 101: Mastering the Art of Obtaining Leather & Fabric (Unlock the Fabric Loom Crafter with Ease!)

In Palia, Leather and Fabric can be acquired through two primary methods: crafting at a Fabric Loom or purchasing from Kilima Village's stores. To utilize the Fabric Loom for crafting Leather and Fabric, players must first unlock this Crafter.

Crafters are a variety of workbench equipment available for players to place in their housing plot. These workbenches can be utilized to create a range of items. As players advance through the game's main quests, they will gradually unlock different types of Crafters and the recipes required to craft materials essential for the Fabric Loom.

However, acquiring the necessary Crafters to progress and unlock the Fabric Loom will demand a considerable amount of gold and raw materials. To gather these resources, players may choose to sell any surplus materials obtained through activities such as hunting, foraging, and fishing. They can do so by visiting the General Store or using the shipping box located outside their housing plot.

How To Unlock The Fabric Loom In Palia

To unlock the Fabric Loom, players must initially complete the main story quest "Learning The Ropes." This quest involves interacting with Kenli, who provides guidance on the construction of a house on the player's plot. Kenli then directs the player to Tish, the proprietor of Kilima Village's furniture store. Speaking with Tish grants the player access to several furniture crafting recipes, including ones that utilize wood obtained through the Makeshift Axe.

Prior to crafting, it is recommended for players to consume food in order to boost their Focus. This elevation in Focus enhances the amount of experience attained from crafting each piece of furniture. The Campfire presents a variety of recipes that can be prepared using easily obtainable materials like plants, meat, and fish.

Once players have unlocked these furniture recipes, they can begin working towards unlocking the Loom, which is necessary for crafting Fabric and Leather. The recipe for the Fabric Loom can be obtained from Tish once players have reached Furniture Skill Level 2. To raise their Furniture Skill, players should craft any of the furniture recipes they have learned from Tish. To check their current skill level, players can open the character menu and refer to the "Skill Levels" section located at the bottom left.

Furniture items will not occupy any storage space in the player's inventory, alleviating concerns of excessive crafting. While it is beneficial to concentrate on easily craftable pieces, priority should be given to those essential for progressing in the main quest "Spiffy It Up."

After completing the construction of a furniture piece, the player has the option to choose a new recipe to learn. They can craft any furniture item they desire in order to improve their skill, as it seems that all items provide an equal amount of skill experience. The player must continue crafting furniture until they have accumulated enough skill experience to reach Level 2.

Once the player reaches Furniture Skill Level 2, they have two options: they can either return to Tish and have a conversation with her, or they can interact with the cash register in her Furniture Store. At this point, the player is able to purchase the crafting recipe for the Fabric Loom, at a cost of 100 Gold. Creating the Fabric Loom requires the following materials:

15 Sapwood Plank

20 Plant Fiber

2 Copper Bar

5 Ceramic

Some of these materials can be obtained by purchasing them from different stores located in Kilima Village, which will, once again, necessitate the player's expenditure of Gold. However, the player will need to construct and position additional Crafters to craft these materials, and the recipes to construct these devices must first be unlocked.

The player must construct both the Sawmill and Smelter. Tish will guide the player to these villagers after they have set up the Harvest House framework, as the materials produced by these Crafters are needed to build the player's house.

The Sawmill is essential for making Sapwood Planks. The blueprint for this Crafter can be bought from Ashura once the player reaches Foraging Level 2. Once the Sawmill Crafter is placed, the player can start crafting Sapwood Planks right away.

The Smelter is essential for producing Copper Bars and Ceramic. To acquire the recipe for this Crafter, players must reach Mining Level 2 and purchase it from Hodari. Additionally, the recipes for Copper Bars and Ceramic must also be obtained from Hodari.

After gathering the required materials and setting up the Fabric Loom in their housing plot, players can begin crafting Leather and Fabric in Palia.

Palia is currently available in Open Beta on PC and will release on PC and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
