Spanish officials reported that over 700 migrants were rescued near the Canary Islands on Saturday. One boat carried 247 individuals, while another had 238 passengers. The remaining two boats held 254 people each, as confirmed by the official emergency services account for the Canary Islands on "X" (previously known as Twitter).
Two individuals were discovered deceased among those on board, and an additional two individuals passed away subsequent to being transferred to a hospital, as stated by officials. Meanwhile, twelve others are currently undergoing treatment in medical facilities. The Interior Ministry of Spain disclosed on Thursday that a total of 30,075 migrants had reached the Canary Islands via water transit from January 1 to October 31, surpassing the previous year's figure by more than twofold.
