A new sequel to It Follows, titled They Follow, is currently being developed. Maika Monroe will be reprising her role from the original film. It Follows, released in 2015, directed by David Robert Mitchell, centers around Jay, a young woman who becomes haunted by a malevolent presence after a sexual encounter. The horror flick received highly positive reviews from critics and performed well at the box office. According to a recent report from Deadline, production company NEON has officially confirmed the news of the sequel on X (formerly known as Twitter), accompanied by the chilling tagline: "It's everywhere."
The film will see Mitchell and Monroe re-team, with an early 2024 production start date eyed. NEON will produce the picture with Good Fear Content.

As a passionate fan of the original "It Follows," I am thrilled to hear about the upcoming sequel, "They Follow." The first film was a masterclass in horror, with its unique and terrifying concept, unsettling atmosphere, and strong performances. The return of Maika Monroe as the original final girl is particularly exciting, as she brought such depth and vulnerability to the role.
I am eager to see what new horrors await in "They Follow." The tagline, "It's everywhere," suggests that the threat may be even more pervasive and inescapable than in the first film. I am confident that director David Robert Mitchell will deliver another unsettling and thought-provoking film that will stay with me long after the credits roll.
