Shueisha Inc., Toei Animation Co., Ltd., and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc are collaboratively organizing a diverse range of engaging festivities to celebrate Eiichiro Oda's One Piece on ONE PIECE DAY '23. This celebration will encompass various forms of media, including manga, anime, movies, music, games, and merchandise. The event will be held over two days, starting from Friday, July 21 to Saturday, July 22, with a live-stream available on YouTube from the in-person event venue at Tokyo Big Sight. Notably, this event will provide English interpretation for the main stage festivities, allowing a simultaneous experience for English-speaking viewers. A concept image for the event has also been released, showcasing a colossal figure of Luffy in his Gear 5 form, accompanied by several exhibits featuring panels from the manga.
The first day of ONE PIECE DAY '23 will commence at 5:00 pm JST with a special screening of One Piece Film: Red. Released in Japan on August 6, 2022, this film is the fifteenth installment in the One Piece film series and has achieved significant commercial success. The special screening, named "Let's go! ONE PIECE FILM RED Special Cheer Screening," invites attendees to join in cheering for the movie alongside fellow fans, fostering an engaging and participatory atmosphere in celebration of all things One Piece.
This segment will also feature a special conversation that brings together Kaori Nazuka, the voice actress behind Uta, and the comedic duo Shimofuri Myojo, who not only appeared in the film but also provided voices for the Jellyfish Pirates. Renowned voice actor and announcer Rysuei Ikuta will serve as the MC throughout these events.
At 7:00 pm JST, get ready for the informative News Corner titled "Find the latest ONE PIECE info here." Moving onto the gaming front, at 9:30 pm JST, dive into the thrilling One Piece mobile game with the "ONE PIECE Bounty Rush Tournament." Then, at 11:00 pm JST, the focus switches to the captivating world of trading card games with the "ONE PIECE Card Game Information Bureau" event. As day two winds down, expect a second News Corner segment hosted by Rysuei Ikuta and Shimofuri Myojo at 12:45 am.
