The Marvel Cinematic Universe's newest overpowered hero, Emilia Clarke's G'iah from Secret Invasion, has created a power imbalance in the MCU. This issue was addressed in a Marvel meme shared on Twitter by @CQuill97 after the season finale of Secret Invasion.
The fan declares, "These characters will never make another appearance," while noting that the MCU has yet to explore the future of recent character introductions such as Hercules, Eros, and Skaar. The dominance of G'iah as the most formidable hero in the MCU is not the only concern arising from the show. The character could potentially follow the pattern of recent MCU debuts where heroes seemingly vanish, and considering the origin of her newfound powers, it is imperative for the character to return no later than Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Marvel Has Too Many MCU Loose Ends
With its lengthy history, the MCU has accumulated numerous loose ends throughout the years. Marvel appears to be addressing some of these forgotten plot points and characters, as there are rumors of Sam Rockwell's Justin Hammer making a comeback in the Armor Wars movie. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Tim Blake Nelson's The Leader, whose transformation was teased in The Incredible Hulk, will serve as the main antagonist in Captain America: Brave New World. Liv Tyler's Betty Ross is also set to return in this film.
Despite the MCU's efforts to address some lingering plot points, there are still numerous loose ends that remain unresolved. For instance, Scorpion, portrayed by Michael Mando, has yet to face off against Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Additionally, Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo has gone missing since his pursuit of magic users, and Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman lacks a concrete storyline to become Black Knight.
In order to expand the Multiverse Saga, the MCU has recently introduced several new characters through Disney+, resulting in a greater number of projects compared to the Infinity Saga. However, the lack of team-up movies means that most heroes will be absent for an extended period of time, leading to the creation of even more loose ends with each project. Recognizing the criticism surrounding the quality of MCU Phase 4, Disney CEO Bob Iger has agreed to slow down the pace, which is beneficial for storytelling and visual effects. However, it also exacerbates the issue of unresolved plot points within the MCU.
