Olivia Plath, from the popular reality show Welcome to Plathville, recently sparked curiosity about her relationship status with a mysterious post on social media discussing her plans for the summer.
The 25-year-old reality star shared her "2023 summer resolutions" in a post on Instagram on June 4. Along with a desire for "more hikes," "more creativity," and "more reading," Olivia expressed her intention to embrace openness when it comes to kissing loved ones.
She wrote, "I want to engage in more kissing. Whether it's on the cheeks of elderly ladies or the delicate wings of butterflies, with babies whose mothers have given consent, or even with trees. It's a gentle and affectionate way to express love and care to the world." Olivia concluded her post with the hashtag "#nofrogs."
During the midst of rumors about their separation, the upload showcases various pictures of her enjoying time with friends, relaxing on the beach, and indulging in delicious treats. Speculation of Olivia and her husband, Ethan Plath, ending their five-year marriage began in early 2023 when they ceased to share their relationship on social media. Olivia's last mention of Ethan was in November 2022, while he acknowledged her in January. Adding fuel to the rumors, Ethan, 25, embarked on a road trip with his siblings in March, following the estrangement of their parents, Kim and Barry Plath. Olivia did not appear to accompany him on this journey.
Olivia addressed the alleged screenshots shared by @Realiteasquad regarding her sister Sophia's claim of a divorce between Olivia and Ethan. Olivia clarified in the comments section that she and Sophia have a distant relationship due to their differing worldviews and reactions to their upbringing in an ultra-religious environment. Olivia emphasized that Sophia is not a reliable source for her personal information and stated that if there was something to share about her relationship with Ethan, they would do so themselves.
Olivia and Ethan have encountered various challenges throughout their relationship. They tied the knot in October 2018, following an engagement that lasted almost a year. However, the beginning of their journey as newlyweds was marred by the strain caused by Ethan's ultra-conservative parents.
"When we were dating, I felt a sense of control over what we could do and say," the photographer shared exclusively with We in August 2021. "The moment it truly hit me was the night we got engaged. We walked through the door and [Kim] was waiting for us. She immediately grabbed my hand, looked at the ring, and said, 'Oh, I want to trade rings with you.' It was a strange and unexpected comment."
During the first season of their TLC series, which premiered in 2019, audiences witnessed the strain on the couple's relationship caused by Ethan's devoutly religious parents. This conflict had a significant impact on their marriage, leading them to seek couples counseling in order to salvage their bond. By season 3, they openly discussed how they had reached a low point and had to confront their own issues.
According to Olivia, "Our relationship almost had to hit rock bottom for us to realize the need to prioritize and address our problems. It was a really difficult period for us. At the start of the season, everything seemed to be falling apart and tensions reached their peak within the first few weeks. However, this means that as uncomfortable as the initial episodes and scenes may be, things do improve. It gets worse before it gets better...but now we are in a much better place."
