Normani fans, you have something to celebrate! The singer has revealed the release date for her first album, which has been delayed for a while. She also surprised fans by dropping a new single titled “1:59.”

Exciting news from Normani herself! The former Fifth Harmony member, who is 27 years old, took to Instagram on Friday, April 26 to share the announcement. She wrote, “Yeeee 1:59 out now and DOPAMINE coming JUNE 14th.”

"1:59" is the debut single from Dopamine, which includes a collaboration with Atlanta rapper Gunna. The song delves into the experience of reconnecting with a former romantic partner after a period of being apart.

After Fifth Harmony took a break in 2017, Normani dropped some singles like “Motivation,” “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B, and “Waves.” Unfortunately, her first album never came out.

During the hiatus, Normani talked to We Magazine about her desire to have a strong sense of her own identity.

"I used to feel like people only saw me as part of a group," she shared. "I even started to believe that image myself. But being apart from that now has opened my eyes. I've been able to discover new things about myself, different aspects of who I am. There are so many layers and parts of me that I hadn't explored before, and it's really exciting. The possibilities feel endless."

She continued, "This new project showcases a more sultry side of me. I've drawn inspiration from different music styles that I grew up listening to. I've been heavily involved in the writing and even co-producing of the album. It's like being a kid in a candy store, exploring all these creative avenues."
