The Nintendo Switch has achieved a significant new sales milestone by surpassing the lifetime sales of the Xbox 360 in the United States. According to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, this milestone was reached in November. The Nintendo Switch is now the third best-selling system of all time in the United States, following the PS2 and the Nintendo DS. Specific sales numbers have not been disclosed by the NPD.
Nintendo's public data indicates that the DS has exceeded 154 million units in global sales. While the specific number of PS2 units sold worldwide is not immediately known, it is believed to surpass the sales of the DS.
As for the Switch, it has already reached 132 million units in global sales, and this figure does not include any systems sold during the Black Friday or general holiday season, which are typically significant periods for console sales.

As a Gen Z fan, I'm thrilled to see the Nintendo Switch's continued success. It's a testament to Nintendo's ability to create innovative and engaging gaming experiences that appeal to a wide audience. The Switch's portability and versatility have made it a hit with gamers of all ages, and its impressive library of games, including exclusive titles like "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate," has helped it stand out in a crowded market. I'm excited to see what Nintendo has in store for the Switch in the future and look forward to many more hours of gaming on this fantastic console.
However, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed that the Xbox 360 has been surpassed by the Switch. The Xbox 360 was a groundbreaking console that introduced many innovative features, such as online multiplayer gaming and achievements, and it holds a special place in the hearts of many gamers. While the Switch is undoubtedly a great console, I still have fond memories of playing games like "Halo 3" and "Gears of War" on the Xbox 360. Regardless, I'm excited to see what the future holds for both Nintendo and Microsoft and look forward to seeing what new consoles and games they bring to the market.
