Nick Mohammed, a U.K. native and cast member of Ted Lasso, has commented on the rumors surrounding a potential spinoff of the popular Apple TV show. While he admits to hearing various rumors, he was just as surprised as anyone when the official Apple TV Twitter account hinted at a new installment featuring himself, Brendan Hunt, and Brett Goldstein.
The account tweeted a photo of the three actors in their respective roles with the caption "Smells like potential" earlier this month. Mohammed reposted the tweet and added a zipped lips emoji, causing fans to take notice. Despite feeling like he was adding fuel to the fire, Mohammed expressed his desire to work with the cast again, praising their close-knit dynamic.

"I have a fondness for the Ted Lasso team, but I do have some doubts about the storyline continuing after the season 3 finale where the titular character returned home to the U.S. and left AFC Richmond behind. Regardless, I believe there will be a break whether or not something more happens."
Mohammed expressed that while there is a sense of fulfillment in delivering three seasons that have resonated with viewers, there is also a fear of spoiling the show by extending it or doing a spinoff that doesn't meet expectations. Sudeikis has been open about his intention to conclude the story arc he and the writers originally envisioned, stating that the show has reached its natural end after three seasons. Despite its success, they never intended for it to become a long-running series.
Mohammed shared Sudeikis' thoughts and expressed optimism for a potential spinoff, despite the completion of Ted Lasso's three-story arc. While the finale provided setups for future storylines, it remains uncertain whether it will manifest as a film or a new show with different characters.
According to Mohammed, Nate's character is currently in a positive state following the events of season 3.
"He reflected on the theme of forgiveness in Nate's story, acknowledging our tendency to quickly judge and condemn behavior without considering the factors that led to it. Season 3 explores this concept further in Nate's character arc. In the meantime, while we await the fate of Ted Lasso, the Emmy nominee has been busy working on his latest project, the black comedy Maggie Moore(s). Mohammed shared his starstruck experience filming alongside Jon Hamm, Tina Fey, and director John Slattery for six to seven weeks."
During a brunch meeting with Slattery to discuss the script, Ted Lasso actor was approached by fans who wanted pictures with him. However, they ended up making John Slattery take all the photos. The Job Lot alum jokingly reminded them that Slattery is way more famous than him. Maggie Moore(s) will be released in theaters on June 16th.
