Nintendo has announced exciting updates for the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake on Switch. In addition to the new Merry Mini-Land and Slippery Summit worlds, the game will also include a local co-op mode allowing another player to control Toad.
With the addition of the new worlds, the remake will now feature over 130 levels. Nintendo has showcased the Merry Mini-Land and Slippery Summit in a recent gameplay trailer on YouTube, demonstrating Toad's collaboration with Mario to solve puzzles in the game.
In addition to that, Mario vs. Donkey Kong will have some other new features. Players can enjoy a Casual mode, which lowers the difficulty level and offers extra lives for mistakes. Nintendo has also announced Plus levels, Expert levels, and Time Attack for the upcoming remake.
Originally released for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake was revealed during a Nintendo Direct last September. The game for the Switch is scheduled to launch on February 16. Mario vs. Donkey Kong will be priced at $50, and preorders are currently available on Amazon.
In 2024, Nintendo's hybrid console is set to see a surge in remasters and remakes. The highly anticipated arrival of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door on the Switch was announced at the September Direct, along with the upcoming release of Another Code: Recollection. Additionally, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is expected to make its way to the Switch sometime this year.
