Today, Fairyship Games has officially announced their latest title, Testament: The Order of the High Human. From the announcement trailer and official description, it appears that Testament draws inspiration from fantasy role-playing games such as the Elder Scrolls series, while incorporating Metroidvania mechanics.

Fairyship Games, the game development studio responsible for Testament, is also currently working on another title called Shame Legacy, set to release on May 30. Despite being in a completely different genre, Shame Legacy is a first-person survival horror game.

In Testament: The Order of the High Human, players take on the role of Aran, the guardian of the realm and king of the High Humans living in the post-apocalyptic fantasy land of Tessara. The story begins after a devastating betrayal by Aran's own brother, Arva, leaving Aran powerless and the land of Tessara overrun by menacing creatures. Testament's non-linear narrative style offers players the freedom to shape their adventure by making choices that have real consequences.

One of the primary objectives of the game is to gain XP and upgrade Aran's abilities to restore his lost powers. This can be achieved by completing the game's main storyline and 40 side quests. As players explore the vast lands of Tessara, they will discover hidden areas that may contain collectible quest items and secrets.

Players will have to face a variety of formidable creatures in Tessara. To even the odds, they can utilize 15 unique magic abilities to cast a range of spells. Sword combat is also a key feature of the game, with players having access to a variety of weapons, including a versatile bow with four different types of arrows. Additionally, players can use 15 potions, each with its own distinct effects, to gain an advantage in combat encounters.

Testament: The Order of the High Human does not have a release date yet, but it is already available to wishlist on Steam. The game is set to launch on both PC and consoles. By wishlisting the game, players can stay up to date with the latest news and announcements regarding its release.

Testament: The Order of the High Human is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
