Carmy is determined to elevate The Bear with the help of the Rolling Stones song "Mixed Emotions," all while juggling challenges inside and outside the kitchen. He sets out a list of "non-negotiables" for the team, but Syd and others waste no time in poking fun at the daily expectations.

In addition to the kitchen drama, Carmy's personal life takes center stage in the upcoming episode. Claire, played by Molly Gordon, continues to make appearances following their surprising breakup. The new season continues from a promising dinner at The Bear, which quickly turns chaotic as the characters navigate through significant life changes.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating what season 3 has in store, especially when it comes to the possibility of Carmy and Sydney starting a romantic relationship. The debate on whether the two should take their friendship to the next level has not only divided viewers, but also White and Edebiri themselves. They have also pondered on whether Carmy and Sydney should just stay as friends.

Edebiri exclusively shared with We in January 2023 that both characters experienced a lot of trauma. She mentioned that the possibility of exploring their relationship further may not be open at this time. Edebiri suggested that if it were to happen, there would need to be two seasons dedicated to individual therapy before considering a romantic option.

Edebiri explained that she and White did not intend to portray their characters as a couple initially. During the creation process, the thought of them being romantically involved did not cross their minds. She expressed how refreshing it was to showcase a platonic relationship between a male and female character, as these types of relationships are not often portrayed in media.

Creator Christopher Storer shared his thoughts on the show's focus on the coworkers. He mentioned that the goal was to highlight friendship and partnership. Storer found it amusing that people resonated with this aspect, considering the heavier themes in the show. He also praised the charisma of Ayo and Jeremy, who are not only friends but also wonderful individuals.
