Negan's Deep Troubles and Morgan's Eager Promises Unfold in Dead City

Negan's Deep Troubles and Morgan's Eager Promises Unfold in Dead City

Negan's journey takes a thrilling twist in The Walking Dead spin-off, Dead City, leaving fans on the edge of their seats Morgan assures answers to the unexpected developments in Negan's story

The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan has expressed his dissatisfaction with Negan's storyline in season 11, particularly regarding his remarriage. In a recent appearance on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast, Morgan revealed that he felt Negan's sudden remarriage was not properly developed and lacked a proper buildup. This came as a disappointment to the actor, considering the significance of Negan's late wife Lucille in his motivations and actions.

You know, it was disappointing that the show never explained how Negan met and married his new wife at the end of The Walking Dead. Especially considering how much emphasis they had put on his love for his late wife, Lucille, and the significance of her presence in his life. It felt like a missed opportunity not to delve into the reasons behind his new marriage. Of course, when you have a large ensemble cast like The Walking Dead, it's challenging to give every character the attention they deserve. Hopefully, with Dead City, we'll finally get some much-needed answers.

Negan's Story Continues In The Walking Dead Spin-Off Dead City

Negan's Deep Troubles and Morgan's Eager Promises Unfold in Dead City

As mentioned by Morgan, the story of Negan continues in The Walking Dead season 11. Dead City is one of the first spin-offs of the original show to feature returning characters. It premiered on June 18 and brings back Morgan as Negan and Lauren Cohan as Maggie. In Dead City, Negan and Maggie reluctantly join forces as Maggie desperately tries to rescue her kidnapped son Hershel (Logan Kim).

In the upcoming series, it is anticipated that Negan's backstory will be explored in greater detail, particularly focusing on the unexpected turn his story took in season 11. Maggie serves as a constant reminder of the atrocities Negan has committed, particularly the murder of her husband, Glenn. Despite this, Negan's new wife, Annie (Medina Senghore), and their child are notably absent in the first episode. In the previous season, it was revealed that Negan's wife was pregnant, and by the finale and The Walking Dead: Dead City, the child should have been born. However, there has been no mention or appearance of them thus far.

Instead, Negan is currently on the run after being accused of killing five individuals and is seen taking care of an orphaned girl named Ginny (Mahina Napoleon). Consequently, there is confusion regarding the whereabouts of Negan's family in the series. Although they have yet to make an appearance, Morgan's suggestion that there are answers to this lingering question raises hopes that Dead City will address this unresolved story arc. By continuing to watch Dead City on AMC, viewers may potentially find a resolution to the remaining Negan predicament from The Walking Dead.
