Mysterious Starfield Phenomenon Erases Entire City: Unveiling the Unexplained

Uncover the mysterious disappearance of an entire city in Starfield's Settled Systems as players stumble upon an unsettling bug, leaving them bewildered and eager to solve the enigma

Highlights

Starfield's launch has been marred by numerous gameplay bugs. Recently, a player stumbled upon a fresh glitch that has caused complete disappearance of prominent cities such as New Atlantis and Neon. These once-thriving urban landscapes now exist solely as eerie shadows, populated by non-playable characters and abandoned items.

Players are delighting in the peculiar glitches present in Starfield, despite the various issues they may cause. Ranging from headless NPCs to cities suspended in outer space, these eccentric phenomena contribute to the game's charm and diversity.

An area known as New Atlantis has become a focal point for these glitches, with one player even stumbling upon the city hovering in the cosmos. As more adventurers venture into Starfield, it is highly probable that further unusual revelations will come to light.

In Starfield, a player revisited a populated area in the game only to discover that an entire city in the Settled Systems had vanished. Despite the intact NPCs, items, and light sources, the absence of the city's architecture created a remarkable and somewhat unsettling sight.

The release of Starfield received a mixed reception due to concerns about the presence of gameplay bugs. With a history of releasing games with various glitches, Bethesda continues this trend with Starfield, as players stumble upon bizarre bugs. From inexplicable disappearing spaceships to game-breaking problems, almost every player in Starfield has encountered one or more issues. However, one player has unveiled a new bug to add to the ever-expanding list of reported problems.

Cerparis, a Reddit user, recently shared a screenshot of the city of New Atlantis in Starfield, which is experiencing significant glitches. The entire city, including its skyscrapers, stores, and metro system, has mysteriously vanished, revealing the original planetary surface underneath. Only shadows, NPCs, and specific items remain in the absence of the city. Surprisingly, the citizens of New Atlantis seem unaffected by this glitch and continue their daily routines without any disruption. Cerparis is accompanied by their companion, Sam Coe, who also remains unaffected by the glitch.

Not only is New Atlantis affected, but the player also visited Neon in Starfield to find the same issue. Neon, known for its vibrant lights, now appears devoid of any architectural structures. However, NPCs, certain items, and light sources remain unaffected by the city's absence. This is the only other city where Cerparis encountered a major problem with the disappearance of their cities.

Players who have encountered issues during their playthrough are now reporting a new bug in Starfield: the disappearance of New Atlantis and Neon. Despite the developmental problems this poses, players are surprisingly enjoying their encounters with these glitches. For example, one player discovered that a character named Andrea was missing a head, but experienced no negative consequences in their Starfield journey.

Interestingly, this is not the first instance of players encountering problems with New Atlantis. Another player recently came across the city floating aimlessly in space, detached from its home planet. Although the city appeared untouched, it is now disappearing from the surface of planet Jemison, raising concerns that more players will discover bizarre occurrences associated with New Atlantis.

Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
