FIA drops probe into alleged conflict of interest between Mercedes' Toto Wolff and F1 Academy's Susie Wolff, ending investigation within Formula One

The FIA, the governing body of motorsports, has announced that it will no longer investigate the suspected conflict of interest between Mercedes chief Toto Wolff and F1 Academy series head Susie Wolff. In a statement on Thursday, the FIA assured that F1's compliance management system is strong enough to prevent unauthorized disclosure of confidential information, referring to the married couple.

There is no longer an active investigation into any individual for ethical or disciplinary inquiries. In addition, all F1 teams except Mercedes issued a joint statement denying any complaint to the FIA regarding conflict of interest allegations.

"We are delighted to announce our sponsorship of an entrant in F1 Academy's liveries for the upcoming season, to show our support for the academy and its managing director," the statement expressed.

As per Business F1 magazine, certain F1 team principals had raised concerns about Mercedes boss Wolff allegedly having access to confidential information through his wife, and not sharing it with them, which could benefit Wolff personally.

Susie Wolff dismissed allegations of conflict of interest with her husband, stating on social media that she is "deeply insulted but sadly not surprised" by the accusations. "It is disheartening that my integrity is being questioned in this way, particularly when it appears to be based on intimidating and misogynistic behavior, and centered on my marital status rather than my skills," she further commented.

Mercedes denied the allegations, stating that they became aware of the FIA's investigation through a media statement.

In a response, they completely rejected the allegation and the media coverage that questioned the integrity and compliance of their Team Principal.
