Colorado Springs Police Department
The Colorado Springs Police Department is actively seeking a Colorado mother who is suspected of murdering two of her children. Detectives from the homicide unit are collaborating with various law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.
The department stated that further details regarding the arrest would be provided at a future news conference. On December 19th, police initially went to Singler's residence in response to a 911 call reporting a burglary. Upon arrival, they discovered her 7-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter deceased, as per officials. Additionally, Singler and her 11-year-old daughter, who survived, were also found and taken to a hospital.
Initially considered a victim based on the first burglary report, Singler later became a suspect as the investigation progressed, according to Colorado police. She initially cooperated with law enforcement but later stopped, making it difficult for police to reach her.
"We couldn't detain her for any reason until we had probable cause," stated Ira Cronin, public information officer at the Colorado Springs Police Department.
After the incident, her 11-year-old daughter was discharged from the hospital and is now recovering from her injuries apart from her mother, Cronin stated. Singler is being charged with four counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder, with the charges for each alleged crime being doubled due to the victims being under the age of 12, as per a news release.
