The previous year's Mob Vote winner was the Sniffer, an ancient passive mob that has the ability to sniff out seeds from various decorative plants. With the conclusion of another Minecraft Live event, a new mob has been selected for Minecraft.

Meanwhile, the penguin took third place with a mere 25.2% of the votes. Situated in the Stony Shore biome, the penguin would grant a speed boost to players navigating with the mob on their boat.

While the crab and penguin naturally inhabit water-related biomes, the armadillo thrives in the savannah biome. Similar to its real-life counterpart, the armadillo curls up into a protective ball when startled by players. Upon defeating an armadillo, players can acquire a scute, which functions as a coveted collectible item that allows for the crafting of wolf armor, fulfilling a long-standing desire among Minecraft players. Currently, the availability of wolf armor in the game is limited to mods, making the introduction of the armadillo an eagerly anticipated addition. As of now, there is no specific release date for the armadillo in Minecraft.

The Mob Vote is a highly anticipated event within the Minecraft community. However, this year, the event has sparked controversy as certain players have launched a petition opposing it.
