Can Axolotls Be Tamed In Minecraft?

Axolotls in Minecraft cannot be tamed like other animals, but players can still keep them as pets and create their own axolotl farm. To catch an axolotl in the wild, players need a bucket. By approaching an axolotl with a bucket, it can be collected along with some water. Players can then carry it in their inventory. If players want to catch multiple axolotls, they will need multiple buckets to scoop each one up individually.

To successfully guide an axolotl or encourage it to breed with another nearby axolotl, you will require Tropical Fish. These fish are unique and can be found in Mangrove Swamps, Lukewarm Oceans, Deep Lukewarm Oceans, Warm Oceans, and Lush Caves biomes.

By feeding a Tropical Fish to an axolotl, it will initiate the breeding process if another axolotl nearby has also consumed a Tropical Fish. This interaction will lead to the birth of a baby axolotl, which can display a wide range of colors. While these creatures cannot be domesticated, they can be kept in water and allowed to roam freely. It is important to ensure their safety and prevent suffocation caused by objects in their environment.
